Cooked Breakfast was expensive and the only down side to it was the Lorne sausage being sour

The Old Rectory is a lovely place to stay. Views of the Loch. Close to the village. lovely cosy room with great bath, very relaxing. Fabulous breakfast and lovely hosts. Thanks
Very friendly. Beautiful and convenient location. Parking easy. Decor a little tired and furnishings a bit dated but all in keeping with a cosy, friendly place. Evening meal okay but a rather limited menu. Breakfast was good. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. My room, at the back, was quiet but my companions' room was over the bar was a bit noisy until late.

Over-rated and over-priced we would not stay at this hotel again.
This place must survive on first visit guests. A lesson we should have learned is to check out comments from previous visitors. Sadly we are groomed to not complain otherwise the very unappetising looking food would have been sent back immediately. This proved to be the general consensus as we met another couple at Loch Fynne Oyster Bar the next night who felt the same.
The meal was so disappointing, from the 45 minute wait for our starter to the 30 minutes or more between courses, but worst of all the quality of the food was VERY poor - it was the worst meal I have ever been served. Definitely not even pub grub quality. Unleashed dog in the restaurant was friendly but not welcome.
The room looked Ok though the curtain rail was hanging off the wall and drawers were broken but it was the noise from the fan in the basement (which we did get switched off) and then during the night the air conditioning unit for the hotel was right outside our window and I found it difficult to sleep so light sleepers (in fact anyone) beware, don’t waste your money.

A very very small place which we stopped for our last night after arriving back from Islay. 15 minutes from Inveraray. Nothing really to do there but probably some walks. Lovely view across the loch. Only the Stagecoach Inn to stay in, which is lovely

Lovely view from good balcony. Horrid duvet.
Lovely view from good balcony. Horrid duvet. Nowhere to sit and watch tv except on the bed. Poor, ungenerous breakfast. Bad coffee. Very overpriced.
Favourite places Inveraray, McLachlan estate, Loch Fyne restaurant.
Very easy to get around by car.
On next visit we would avoid the Stagecoach Inn

We were looking for somewhere remote but on reflection 6 nights was probably too long. Maybe 3 nights then move on to somewhere further north. Some nice walks in the area. Ardkinglass wooded garden is excellent. The walk to Clachan via the raised path gives excellent views of the loch on the way back. Or drive to Clachan and park in the walkers car park. Several marked walks up Glen Fyne for the more seasoned walkers.
The location of the Cairndow Inn is second to none. The dinner was reasonably good, but the breakfast was very disappointing. The toaster was set to undercook and no-one was allowed to alter the settings. One little boy was actually told off by a member of staff for putting his bread through twice causing it to burn, which I thought was very unnecessary. The little boy was very upset.
Seems to have been constructed from left overs from a skip. Super shabby, no chic. Incredibly tatty hotel.
Food was reasonable.
But for the standard of the property the price is far too much.
I can’t think there are many people who consider the hotel as equal or better to their home so for most must be a let down.
The owners need to spend some proper money or sell up.
Is the property a little dated? Perhaps but that’s kind of why we wanted to stay here. You don’t go to a small Scottish village inn for a modern hotel! The room was delightful, comfortable, and spacious. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. The pub dinner and breakfast were tasty. Definitely would stay here again.
We stopped here for the night on the way back from the Hebrides. We had 2 dogs and this hotel had an ideal motel-style annex. You can park right by the door and there’s a balcony overlooking the loch. Dinner was very good. I had a selection of smoked fish which tasted excellent. Well done to all the staff.
We had not booked dinner and there were no tables immediately available - but as soon as one was free we were accommodated. The small staff were clearly very busy but all smiling and cheerful. Covid restrictions were being observed.
It was good to find this dog friendly hotel in such a beautiful setting.
Michelle, staff member engaging, charming, efficient and helpful.
Member of staff at breakfast who managed to find a banana for us, when there was no fruit on offer.
This hotel is in a beautiful location and really needs to up its overall standards to make this a destination to want to return to.
Idillic location. Quiet, peaceful, friendly hard working staff. Stunning views and so much to visit. One of the most beautiful location we've been to. The hotel was fabulous, with fascinating history, amazing views and great facilities including a jacuzzi bath.
the staff were friendly and changed our room without any questions for a Loch view. accommodating and welcoming and it’s kept it’s Scottishness which a lot of places don’t do anymore. friendly people both who worked there and guests at the hotel and pub.
The location of the hotel is stunning with lovely views of Loch Fyne. The food was good with a large choice for breakfast. The room was a nice size with a balcony overlooking the Loch and the spa bath was a nice luxury.
The location was a perfect stopping point for us on our journey to Oban and a pretty setting. Original building has an interesting history. Good choices for evening meal and well cooked. Staff very friendly.
What a find! On beautiful Loch Fyne on a beautiful afternoon, we took our pints outside and sat by the lake. The dinner was very good - Scottish salmon was excellent. Very friendly staff.
