Lovely breakfast again, 2nd visit now and I preferred being able to get my
own continental options. That was much better as last time we went this was table service. We were told we could use the spa when we liked whereas last time I had to say a time slot. I really appreciate being able to leave my car for the day aswell it saves having to find more parking although I dont think guests should have to pay £10. Maybe introduce a new system.

Patterdale sits at the rugged end of Ullswater, and offers access to Helvellyn, High Street, and other peaks of truly astonishing beauty. The hiking in this part of the Lakes is strenuous and at times difficult, so visitors should be prepared for that. But the views are worth every step.
Patterdale itself is quite small, with a hotel, a pub, and then the Brotherswater Inn a little up the road. You'll need time to get around and time for meals and drinks. It's not a place to move fast, but it is a perfect place to stop and breathe.
Plan your hikes carefully, consult with local staff, and check the weather.

Patterdale is not Keswick or Windermere.
Patterdale is not Keswick or Windermere. The scenery is spectacular and a haven for walkers of all capabilities and water sports. We found the area beautiful and like being abroad. Definitely will be coming back to walk and do some fishing. We made our way to the White Lion pub which is a focal point for both visitors and locals serving excellent food and a variety of local beers.

A great Lakeland village with Glenridding a short walk away.
A great Lakeland village with Glenridding a short walk away. Between the two villages they offer a selection of shops and pubs/hotels. There are countless walks and fells straight out of the door of your hotel. Ullswater in nearby and offers great water sport activities or just boat cruise for the less adventurous.
Perfect location have been before excellently placed for walking around more challenging routes. Breakfast was perfect to set you up for the day, with choices including vegetarian options and continental style simple breakfast.
The Hotel has had to have in place safe covid options to protect staff, masks required in open areas whilst not seated. Rooms not cleaned but top ups available for required tea/coffee facilities in rooms, just be prepared to make your own bed at the moment.
The B&B is in a lovely location, quiet and leafy but close to Patterdale. The owners are friendly and around when you need them. The room we had was spacious and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, local produce and home made jams. We were in the area for a wedding and left feeling like we'd been on holiday because our stay here was so good. We couldn't fault anything and would definitely recommend. We're hoping to be able to come back again in future.
A wonderfully quiet location, great facilities, a bedroom AND a lounge. Adam, the host, greeted me at the door, offered to help with my bags and to give me a lift into the village to get some dinner. He made sure everything was just right without. Breakfast was spot on, I would highly recommended Crookabeck to anyone heading up into the hills around Patterdale.
Amazing location and great staff on our first nights stay here at the Patterdale hotel. The food is exceptional and the breakfast is top quality. The rooms are spacious and accommodating with some of the comfiest beds available for a great nights sleep. I would love to visit the lakes again and if I do this is the place I will stay.
We stayed for two nights here. The staff were very nice. The area around the hotel is quite pretty and the lake is close. There is also a pub just down the street where you can go for drinks or dinner. The breakfast at the hotel was quite nice and included eggs done several ways which we appreciated.
Ideally situated for walkers. My friend & I walked part of the Ullswater Way and tackled Helvellyn. We stayed on a B&B basis but dined @ the hotel both evenings - the food and service was excellent and @ £22 for three courses, great value.
The hosts were really welcoming and helpful. The location was great, unfortunately nowhere to get an evening meal in Patterdale so we had to walk to the next village. My room was cold. Breakfast okay but no more. Lovely homemade marmalade
The staff the hotel and the setting are all absolutely amazing. We were taken great care of and the food was to die for. I highly highly recommend this hotel to anyone spending time here in Glenridding.
Third visit to this hotel which in itself speaks volumes. Just love the quiet location. Everything you need is to hand including fabulous, if a little expensive, food.
the location was amazing,a beautiful quiet spot away from main roads but only by a couple of minutes away from patterdale and glenridding,we would definately go again
