I stayed at Augherea House to break up a journey for work and it was perfect. The room was spotless, very comfortable with all that I needed. I had a great sleep, woke up and was served a delicious breakfast by Matt. Matt was a great host. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Lovely old farm cottage that has been renovated but still retains it's coziness, we were disappointed that we could not spend more time just relaxing in the house during our stay! Linda the host was lovely, had lit a fire before our arrival and let us know she was on stand-by if we needed anything!

I was doing a cycling trip so arrived late and muddy. This wasn't a problem, both the lad who checked me in and the lady who ran the property were great to deal with. Good breakfast and big comfortable room.

We were there to meet up with family so we didn't use many of the facilities that Longford has to offer. Limited range of good restaurants but lots of fast food places. Good central base to explore lots of Ireland.

This is a part of the country which I wouldn’t think of exploring but I’m so glad I did. I was on my way to a wedding in Roscommon and we stayed in Longford which was within a half hour drive. It was lovely to be by the banks of the Shannon and I will certainly visit again. We ate in “The Purple Onion” and as we waited for our taxi to collect us the proprietor treated us to a nightcap on the house.

Our stay involved walking the Longford Branch of the Royal Canal. This is an 8 km stretch of the canal. It is mostly filled in, but has an abundance of native trees growing where once the water flowed and is a haven for birds, butterflies and insects. The bridges still stand in all their glory which makes this stretch historically interesting. The Longford Branch ends at the junction where it meets the Royal Canal, about 2 km from Kilashee village. It is a tract of land well used by cyclists, but maintaining its own quiet rural feel to it.

Longford has so much to offer with the shannon and all its amenities very close by. The beautiful cathedral rebuilt after a devastating fire, a must see, demonstrating the wealth of local talant in the skills applied during the rebuild. But most of all the friendliness and warmth of the locals

Longford underestimates itself!
Longford underestimates itself! It has lots to see in a very compact town with theatre, cinema, golf and historic sites within easy reach. Great literary connections, from Goldsmith to Maria Edgeworth, poets Padraig Collum to modern day Vona Grourke.
beautiful cottage with lovely views looking out on the countryside, everything was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the place was very cosy and comfortable. Linda was very kind to deal with and exceptionally helpful as she sent us a list of recommendations for activities/ restaurants / pubs etc in the area 😊 If you are looking for a place to stay in Longford I would 100% recommend this lovely cottage 😊
The apartment is located across from St Mel's Cathedral in the heart of Longford Town with pubs, restaurants and takeaways all within a five-minute walk.
The property is tastefully furnished with a 2-seater couch, an armchair, and a TV. The kitchen ahd everyhing we needed such as a fridge (bonus points for ice in the freezer!), an electric hob, an oven and all manner of pots, pans and kitchen utensils.
We managed to arrive in longford a couple of hours sooner than expected, but thanks to Rob,we were able to park up and check in early which was such a great suprise. In addition, tea and coffee was available along with milk in the fridge. Although these dont seem like much, after you have driven for a couple of hours, this is a welcoming sight as you dont need to head out to shops as soon as you land.
The farmhouse was warm, cosy and very clean. It was in a very quiet rural location; we loved looking out over the countryside and seeing the cows in the fields around. Our host had thought of all the little things we might need including shampoo and shower gel, milk in the fridge and a well stocked coffee machine. It was a wonderful place to stay for our perfect break in North Longford!
The photos don’t do it justice.
The host was fabulous, friendly and polite - single female I was so at ease.
The building was gorgeous, immaculate, large rooms, super breakfast.
Will definitely use again if in the area even though I normally opt for hotels this was exceptional hence the 10’s.
Very cute and cozy stay. Two shepherd huts with very good facilities. Outdoor seating was lovely and bbq area too. Didn’t get to use it due to the rain. 4 min drive into drumlish and 10 mins from longford. Very cute decor and the owners were friendly. Our little dog loved the stay too😃
Everything. The surroundings are an idyllic Irish countryside, the insides were immaculately clean, the room was like a four or five star hotel, and the breakfast was at a professional level. The only downside was that it set our expectations for the rest of the trip so high period.
great central location and excellent value for money. Gerry was very friendly and helpful, he gave great information about Longford town and things to do. the apartment was very clean and tidy. 10/10 would definitely recommend
Great location 5 mins from Longford, stayed here with friends while doing the Longford Marathon. Lovely setting, quiet and fantastic host who was very welcoming. Thank you, will definitely stay again if in the area.
We booked this room at the last minute on a bank holiday weekend. It is in downtown Longford City. The self-check-in and out were easy. The room and bathroom were clean. The bed was comfy.
Expensively and elegantly refurbished rooms in the old stables of a country house.
Convenient for visits to the Famine Museum in nearby Strokestown.
Free parking, good breakfast.
Rob was a fantastic host, property was spotless and very well equipped. Very well located for Longford and main travel routes. I can't recommend the apartments enough.
I thought the situation and the position of the Apartments were perfect for what we wanted ! You could walk around Town easily and shops all accessible.
