I stayed here for three nights and I really enjoyed myself here. If you are looking for a quiet peaceful place surrounded by beautiful nature and a breathtaking view on the mountain nearby for a very fair price, look no further: This is the place to stay! Nuk, the receptionist, Kat the owner and her partner all have a very warm heart and are willing to help you with every question you have. There is free water for filling up your bottle and I even was allowed to use the kitchen for myself. Here you just feel welcomed and at home <3

Welcoming little town well worth visiting. The temple and the caves are great but the best thing for me was that I stumbled into a bar up near the cave which is called . . The Cave bar. This place has to be visited if at all possible. Wonderful hostess and a really chilled, funky vibe.

Not touristic at all, and the local people not friendly.
Not recommend for solo travelers especially women. The treat very primitive.
No way to travel without scooter. There aren't taxi or bicycle available.
The nature around nice, also the caves. The mountain at night stunning.
The hot spring nice but not a big deal..
Nest 2 restaurant very recommended.
There is a realy nice Thursday market between 5-8 pm

So if you'd like to get off the beaten track somewhat the Chiang Dao, the 1 hour bus ride north of Chiang Mai might be just the ticket. Nestled next to soaring, cloud-wreathed peaks, the pace of life slows down, there's interesting caves to explore, a riverside hot spring and Tuesday covered market.

We ended up staying 3 nights from the original 2 nights. There are a lot to see and explore. We didn't even go to the cave. There is a hot spring not far from town but the smell is too strong for me. Another one is Pong Arng hot springs, part of the Pha Daeng National Park, some 30km out from the bus station. Tickets are 100 baht for foreigners adults, 20 baht for Thai nationals which also admit you to the Sri Sangwan Waterfall some 5-6 km from there. The longan plantations as far as eyes can see, and the mountains view as the sun sets are just beautiful. You may get "lost" in some picturesque cul-de-sac temples or villages which you will never regret!

Chiang Dao is a lovely place to be with nature.
Chiang Dao is a lovely place to be with nature. The hot springs are a highlight, and many accomodations offer a view of the awesome Doi Luang.
From Chiang Mai the route is very simple and close enough to be comfortable (about 1hr30mins).
It's a great place to relax, reconnect with nature, maybe hike.
The bamboo cabins are clean, comfortable and cosy. The breakfast options and quality excellent.
What makes this place extra special is the owner Nung and his wife. They are both extremely friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was completely stress free, nothing was ever too much trouble and they were on hand with suggestions of places to visit and made arrangements to make sure our trip was extra special. An absolute gem in Chiang Dao and highly recommended we would definitely stay here again
Great place! 5-7 min of driving from Chiang Dao main street, and also from the famous Chiang Dao cave. All rooms here are technically houses, each of them has a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom (even with a bathtub)! Houses are spacey and clean. Owners are super friendly!
I highly recommend this place for anyone who's looking for an accommodation in Chiang Dao, it's not expensive and really awesome. I'll definitely stay here again during my next visit.
central location in Chiang Dao made it easy to find when just off the bus from Chiang Mai. fortunately for us, the managers son? was able to get us 2 scooters for our two days there. we were able to explore the area well on bikes. if we didn’t have these our stay would’ve been very different snd very likely it would’ve been a disaster.
the room was very basic, clean with 2 bottles of water, soap and towels included.
This is a wooden house with 5 rooms which is taken care of carefully by a family. They take very good care of the guests (pick up from bus station, book taxis when needed, organise renting motorcycle or bicycle, and help you with everything you need).
The view is stunning, you can just stay in the accommodation for hours and enjoy the nature and the sunset.
Great breakfast and water, tea and coffee available.
great view from the balcony! worth it all. the place is nice, rooms are big, it`s a little outdated maybe as an old house but defantily worth the money and i will stay there again for sure!
the guest house owenr`s are very sweet and doing what ever they can to help:)

This is a beautiful location and a very peaceful place. I stayed here once before and it's why I chose it again during my visit to Chiang Dao. The owners are friendly and attentive with good English skills. The breakfast is bountiful and very good.
Beautiful, relaxing property with a river running alongside it! One of the nicest hostels I have ever stayed in. The hosts were very kind and even called in a mechanic when our motorbike (which we rented from a separate company) got a flat tire!
The owners were very nice. They greeted me as soon as I arrived and explained a lot about Chiang Dao. The room was extremely clean and big. The land around the room was huge and well maintained. Beautiful settings.
Thong was the best host I’ve ever had and she gave my girlfriend and I a truly memorable stay. She went above and beyond in taking care of us and I recommend anyone who plans to visit Chiang Dao to stay with her.
Beautiful scenery, large space for walking and just sitting.
The best breakfast I have ever had at a "breakfast included " booking in Thailand.
Charming owner, nothing was too much trouble for her.
Nice beds and very friendly family who runs this place. We got complimentary fruits every day. Scooter rental was great. Location was fine. Next to a big supermarket and close Chiang Dao's main road.
Very nice accommodation! Rooms were comfortable and we had a nice view from our room. We only stayed for one night but definitely could have stayed longer. Breakfast was good.
