One of the most stunning places I've ever visited.
One of the most stunning places I've ever visited. Relatively unspoilt as it's difficult to reach and very expensive. Felt like an exclusive holiday location. Colourful buildings springing out of the hills, beautiful climate and STUNNING flora and fauna. All in all, one feels like one has been dropped into paradise on earth. Visiting in April is to be recommended as it feels neither too hot nor too crowded. I can't sing its praises enough. Travelling can be tricky if you have older people in your party - almost every route around the town involves steep steps. Spoilt for choice in terms of eating - we didn't have a bad meal. Shout out to Il Capitano (higher end) and Il Fornillo (slightly more reasonably priced). Recommend day trips to Pompeii and Vesuvius, the Amalfi coast (from Positano to Maiori), boat trip to Capri and Anacapri, and Sorrento.

Positano is absolutely amazing, but be ready to walk a lot...
Positano is absolutely amazing, but be ready to walk a lot of stairs, on very very steep trails. Respectfully, this place is not ideal for unfit people. Depending if you’re staying close the beach or on the upper side of the city, you will either have to take the stairs with your luggage or get a taxi, which is not cheap there.
There are a lot of good restaurants to choose from, and also very affordable, even though the city is rated to be quite expensive.
The beach is relatively small, so don’t expect to find a spot to lay down on the sand if you’re travelling during the summer season. As we visited in march, the weather was 10-18 degrees Celsius, which was prefect, also we avoided the crowds and the Mediterranean summer heat of June-August.

Is picturesque.
Is picturesque. Very hilly so if you have mobility problems would be best avoided. It is expensive even for little things like snacks I found it financially beneficial to have a proper meal. Other than that an enjoyable place to visit.

The Amalfi Coast is a beautiful destination to visit in...
The Amalfi Coast is a beautiful destination to visit in Italy. Originally, when booking this location, I thought the area was sold out-it was hard to find accommodations. But once we arrived we learned that the entire Amalfi Coast pretty much goes silent from November to late March. The area has limited restaurants open as well as hotels. So we were lucky we found a home in which to stay. Use the bus SITA to buy a trip to Amalfi to spend 4-5 hours. Well worth the 3euro cost. Other locations available too on this bus line. Sorrento can be visited as well using the public transportation. The winding roads leading from Sorrento to Positano and then to Amalfi will leave you spell bound. Sharp drops, scenic ocean views and the lovely speckle of homes up and down these cliffs is just breath taking. Highly recommend a visit to the area.

Everything was closed during Dec, no where to eat and only few shops were open, spent 3 nights and it was too long with no where to eat and not much to do, walked daily for spectacular views!
Lots of stairs to climb and I would definitely avoid coming December-March.

Positano is beautiful, but I would go back in the summer...
Positano is beautiful, but I would go back in the summer when we could use the beach. Stairs ! Stairs! Stairs! I didn't believe it until I seen it with my own eyes how much stairs there are. If you have trouble with stairs or walking Positano could be a difficult area. Luggage is also difficult to carry around here, and there is only 1 major road and if your not staying at a hotel on that road, there are alot of steps to get there.
Wow! Where to start…This hotel was completely amazing! Everything was perfect. The room, the staff, the cleaning, the Terrace, the view and not to talk about the delicious breakfast served on the balcony every morning. The coffee was just the best! Alcione Residence completely topped every expectation we had and it made our visit in Positano the very best!
The staff here is lovely. So very helpful and caring in every way and I leave this place feeling loved and well taken care of.
Thank you SO much for everything! 10/10! ♥️
The hotel has an exceptional view of Positano with a small pool that makes it very easy to relax. The staff at Villa Mary is by far the best I've seen in my life. The staff was very kind, attentive, and accommodated one of my special requests (my girlfriend's engagement proposal). They organized everything and the proposal was truly a great moment that we will remember for the rest of our lives. I highly recommend a stay at Villa Mary, you won't regret it! Thank you Villa Mary! We will be back.
Not enough good can be said about this hotel. It is a five star experience from start to finish. From the knowledgeable staff to the unbelievable accommodations (view/cleanliness/fresh flowers in the room/breakfast/overall beauty), this hotel will be hard to beat. My wife and I remarked that no hotel we have stayed in on any continent (particularly the ones labeled as "5 stars") were as nice as what we experienced here. We were treated like a king and queen. Thank you, Villa Yiara.
We stayed here for our honeymoon for 4 nights, and it is absolutely stunning! The complimentary breakfast was incredible every morning while overlooking all the colors and energy of Positano. The terrace was our favorite spot with the ocean and cliff views - and live music on Mon/Wed/Fri from 7:30pm until Midnight. Hotel Poseidon is in a great central location (walking distance to everything in Positano) and close to a shortcut of steps to the beaches below.
BEST ACCOMODATION IVE EVER HAD. If you stay in Positano, I HIGHLY recommend you stay here. Although the stairs up to the hotel are a bit much, that is my only small complaints and the views are unbeatable. They serve you amazing breakfast and have great dinners. The staff really makes you feel at home and provides a great welcome. This stay really hit the home run and I cannot recommend it enough. I’ll definitely be back and for longer!!
Cada Pietro is a place to be in Positano, it’s really well located just beside the main road( which is the best way to get to town and avoid the hundred and hundred steps ) nice restaurants close by ( at main road). The place was so clean, spotlessly. The owners are so welcoming and helpful and the bed and shower was the best I got during my trip to the Almafi Coast/ Capri. Great value for money! Literally a 5 star guest house !
Everything was amazing. The host was 5 stars with us from the start to the end. Always helping us, always caring about us and asking if we needed any help.
The house is perfect, it has everything that you need and it has AC. The only problem is the amount of stairs you have to climb to reach the house but Positano is full of stairs.
It was perfect.
Intimate hotel away from the madding crowd of central Positano. Gorgeous balcony view, private garden, and lovely rooftop deck. Giovanni the host couldn’t have been more delightful and accommodating, offering us rides to and from the center of Positano, bus tickets to Amalfi, and perfect caffè macchiato every morning. Best breakfasts in Italy!
All the staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. They did their best to make sure your requests were met and that your experience was an enjoyable one. There are 70+ steep steps into the Hotel but well worth the climb to enjoy the views. You can best enjoy the views over breakfast on the terrace overlooking Positano and the coast.
This hotel is perfect! Location can't be better, you are right in the beach so you don't need to climb stairs every time to get somewhere, only the car but that is something you will only need to get out of Positano (and there are boats too). The breakfast was amazing, great service, clean rooms, had all the 5 star perks
Everything was absolutely amazing. The staff was personable but gave us space, the facilities were incredibly clean and the food was some of the best we had in Italy. The views were worth every penny. It is a decent walk down many, many steps but I wouldn't have picked any other hotel and we will definitely be back!
We had an amazing time at Massimo’s property. Everything was exceptionally clean and comfortable. This was the best from the places we stayed in Italy, including more expensive hotels. You get a lot here including an amazing view. we are very happy we chose this place and would come back in a heartbeat!
Veronica couldn’t have been more helpful with all of our requests and questions. To us, the hotel was perfectly located as an escape from the city center. The food at the restaurant (and the homemade orange marmalade at breakfast) was some of the best we had in Positano.
Everything. Staff were the best staff at a 5 star I've ever encountered. It's a real 5 star hotel.
The view. Incredible.
The rooms were beautiful.
The food was also so so good. I'll be back next year.
The location overlooked all of Positano and was a little less touristy, it felt secluded and intimate. Lisa was such an amazing host and did her best to make the end of our honeymoon unforgettable
