A pleasant small town in a lovely location.
A pleasant small town in a lovely location. Not that many shops, but more than enough for visitors. There isn't much to see in town, but as a base for exploring the area it's very well located. The town has a good selection of restaurants and bars too

Boppard is a quaint town on the banks of the Rhine and is ideal as a base for exploring the villages and castles along the river. Also a great base for a trip down the river on one of the cruise ships. Loads of good places to eat or just have coffee or ice cream!

Boppard is a charming place and I have visited many times in the past. It is easy to reach via train from Frankfurt and a good base to explore further by train, Mainz, Cologne, Koblenz and Bonn are all within a 2 hour train ride. Unless you really want to you do not need to hire a car as there is plenty to see via public transport. It's an area which seems more popular with mainland European than UK travellers but it doesn't feel overcrowded or overly busy, it has an interesting centre with lots of nice cafes, ice cream parlours and independent shops. Along the riverfront are several excellent restaurants. The Roman remains are interesting and we spent our only wet afternoon at the museum, which was also interesting and free with the Guest card. The fact that the guest card entitles you to free public transport within the area is a huge bonus and we also made use of the discount on KD cruises with a trip back from Rüdesheim to Oberwesel and then back to Boppard on the train. 5 days to a week is the perfect length of time here and allows for some real relaxation as well as new things to see.

Boppard is a lovely town with very nice places to eat and drink. There is planty to see and do - we went on the chair lift to Gedeonseck, a viewpoint high above the river with a very nice bar / restaurant - take your binoculars! It is also a good base for walking or cycling in the area.
The town is well served by means of getting about, there is a regular train service to Koblenz and Mainz (well worth it just for the views) and also frequent river cruises in both directions. There is also a place you can hire bicycles (including electric ones).
Although Boppard doesn't have its own castle, there are a number within easy reach such Castle Katz and Casle Maus (near St Goarshausen).

Bad Salzig - I only needed one night to get to Koblenz on the next day, there is not much I can tell about Bad Salzig as such. However, a long walk through the park (towards the hills south west) proved that Bad Salzig deserves the "Bad" in the name.

Boppard is right on the Rhine and in the middle of the Rhine wine country. Many tour boats are based in Boppard and the Regional Train stops here and at every other little town between Koblenz and Mainz. This means you can easily visit all the wineries and never have to worry about driving; so enjoy! There are many good restaurants in Boppard also. But many do not take credit cards, so be sure to ask before you sit if you need to use a credit card - and carry cash.
This hotel has a perfect location for those wanting a view of the Rhine and some time to chill in a pretty little town. It's right on the riverfront, overlooking quiet riverside restaurants.. The room we had was quite spacious for a standard double, clean and comfortable. And the balcony, complete with small table and chairs, was perfect for taking in the Rhine. Staff, both at reception and at breakfast, were friendly and helpful and our room was refreshed every day. We enjoyed our four-night stay.
Lovely warm welcome, convenient location from motorway, good evening meal in restaurant and great breakfast. Location is also a 20 minute drive down to Boppard which is a pretty town by the Rhine. I saw that others had been bothered by road noise on previous reviews and so there were earplugs thoughtfully provided along with usual toiletries! We weren’t bothered by traffic noise at all but it depends what you are used to I suppose.
This was the perfect location, just a short bus ride from the train station and the beautiful town of Boppard. The host went out of her way to accommodate us during our stay. The apartment has modern finishes with everything that you might need on your holiday. We were also surprised on how well we slept on the sleeper couch. We really enjoyed our stay at Schöne Maid! We will definitely recommend them to family and friends.
Hotel that seems to be run by several young staff. Good breakfast. Very attentive staff - we wanted to watch the rugby world cup game on tv, but couldn't get it in our room, but the young girl found it on the tv in the breakfast room and we wanted it there with a couple of beers. Probably about a 20 min. walk into the town - good for walking off the drink/food. Would easily stay there again.
The hotelier greeted us warmly & personally carried our bags to our room. We had 2 evening meals both of which were delicious. Breakfasts were very good too at a reasonable 8 Euros per person. We had dinner on a nice terrace under a large umbrella. Our room had a balcony and air conditioning when needed. All staff were helpful and friendly. Free car parking too! Highly recommended!
The location was central to everything. The hosts, Georg and Maria, were so very nice. They were extremely hospitable and we felt like they were old friends. The place was very clean and comfortable. If you’re planning on staying in the Rhine valley this is the place. Our hosts led us to local establishments and gave us the authentic German experience.
The location was wonderful. Nancy our host was extremely helpful guiding us with her personal touch to local information and to wonderful restaurants. Nancy was exceptional at making us feel welcome, nothing was too much to ask and was greeted with a smile. Lovely family. We highly recommend this hotel!!!
The staff was very professional, polite, and helpful. The dinner was very good and very well presented. The room was quite small but well furnished and the patio presented a very pleasant opportunity to sit outside. Everything worked as it supposed to and the environment around the hotel is very quiet.
Great location, excellent facilities and very helpful host. The Rhine Valley can be busy but the Rhein Suites are in a relatively quiet part of Boppard, which is itself in a very beautiful area with lots to do. Highly recommended as a spacious and cheaper alternative to the town’s hotels.
It was more like a hotel than a hostel. The bathroom is in the room and it's really convenient. There are also curtains for each bed and the lockers are in the corner behind the door.
It is also very near the train station, about 2 minutes walk.
The staff was very friendly in this family-owned hotel. We enjoyed our stay along with the beautiful breakfast provided in the morning. The surrounding area is also beautiful. If you don't go for a morning walk, you are really missing out.
I stayed at the guest house behind the hotel. Clean room more suited for a couple or small family. Very attentive staff. The only downside was the view of the room but It compensated by being silent and excellent for resting.
We stayed in the apartment building about 50 yards from the hotel. We had a riverfront room with an incredible view. We spent hours during our three day stay just watching this river traffic and enjoying the sights.
Lovely room with small outdoor seating area. About a half hour pleasant walk to the centre Boppard. Good secure parking for motorcycle and honesty drinks fridge in the garage was welcome after a long trip. 🙂
Hotel staff arranged late check-in, it was easy to find. The area and the river view is beautiful.
Its a good location not far from the motorway to stay overnight.
Free parking.
Breakfast was simple.
Location was excellent. Close to town centre and and our river facing room was fantastic. Have stayed in Boppard before but not at this hotel. Will definitely be staying again.
Great location, by the river Rhine, very close to the docks and walking distance to Boppard HBF. Also so convenient to stroll through town. Wished we have stayed longer
