The gables is situated approximately 15 minutes from Berwick -on-Tweed. We received a very warm welcome including tea and cake. The Gables is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with period furniture. The bedroom is spacious and the bed is large and comfortable. Guests have the added use of a comfortable lounge with beautiful views. Breakfast is made to order at a time you require it. Angus has a wealth of historical and local knowledge of the area. The privacy and the hot tub were the most important factors. Compact cabin with lots of useful kitchen gadgets. The 3 single beds suited a small family. Nice and warm, held the heat well. Plenty places to walk and visit near by. Lovely post office in nearest village with a good bakery.

We loved EVERYTHING about this stay. It had everything we needed. The lodge was clean and modern with log cabin features. The location is beautiful and the scenery is breathtaking. Paul the owner was lovely. They went the extra mile by having hot tub & wine ready on arrival.
