Hue is great to visit since there where many historic sites to go to
In addition Hue is still not too overrun by tourists, i.e. if you stay a couple of nights at which you have the opportunity to go to local restaurants like CHAN and see how vietnamese families enjoy life.

Hotels don't carry enough tourist information for first time visitors. This should be the role of the Tourist Board. Also a better city map showing more details on how to get to the sites, where to buy tickets and where is the entrance.

I wanted to go from a historical perspective and glad I went. Enjoyed the river and citadel walk I did but didn't use local tour guides as they all seem a rip off.
There are some good restaurant options and some ok bars but after 2 days had explored most options.
The rickshaw drivers, constant motorbike riders peddling boom boom, tours, weed, cocaine are a pain in the bum and just ignore.
There are friendly people there and recommend trying the local dishes rather than western food.

We loved Hue.
We loved Hue. It was our first visit their & we views it as a quick stop but wish we had stayed longer. There is so much to see there. To fully see the amazing ancient Citadel completely takes half a day in itself. We will definitely return.

Pleasant area for walking around, and dining, near my hotel.
Pleasant area for walking around, and dining, near my hotel. The Citadel is amazing, be prepared to spend a good half-day here. Thien Mu pagoda is an easy walk (or take a dragon boat!), and take a tour to the Abandoned Water Park and Khai Dinh tomb - I went on the back of a motorbike with a guide who stopped me in the street for my business, and the tour (which also included Tu Duc tomb, the Japanese Bridge and an incense-making community) took 2-3 hours and was well worth it.
The Jade is always a comfortable , clean, safe place and located conveniently . The staff are exceptional especially the receptionist. This is our third stay here and it never disappoints . Breakfast is simple and tasty enough . If you want buffet or 5 star breakfast go somewhere else . One other thing that sets this apart is how quiet this hotel is no one banging doors, moving furniture or yelling in the corridor ( well it wasn't the times we stayed) that's an added bonus when travelling . We will return when in Hue again .
Nestled in the heart of Hue, Thanh Lich Royal Boutique Hotel offers a peaceful and quiet oasis for travelers seeking a unique historical experience. Located near the city's most notable heritage sites, guests can enjoy stunning views of the Hue citadel and its surrounding beauty. The hotel boasts a comfortable and charming atmosphere, with traditional Vietnamese decor and modern amenities. The staff is welcoming and attentive, ensuring a pleasant stay for all guests.
The room we had (bungalow) was extremely spacious and lovely. The property was so beautiful - it was like walking through a jungle oasis. The pool was amazing, the breakfast was incredible, and the spa was truly the best that we experienced during out 2 week stay in Vietnam. I don't have enough amazing things to say about this property. If I ever find myself in Hue again, I would 100% stay at this property again - it was a luxurious experience!
Lovely staff, breakfast, beds, wifi, rooms, pool. The rooftop pool is compact but we made good use of it in the heat of Hue, the rooms were spacious with balconies with views over the rooftops of Hue. Down a lovely peaceful street but you're still in the heart of the backpacker district - the nicest of all the cities we visited in Asia. In fact the best hotel of our 2-week Asia trip, wish we could have stayed longer.
The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast buffet is delicious. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the grounds are well-maintained. The grand lobby is inviting and the hotel is conveniently located near many attractions. During my stay, I was able to explore the city with ease. I highly recommend Thanh Lich Hue Hotel for its serene atmosphere and excellent service.
A pleasant stay in the tourist city center of Hué. Although the neighborhood is noisy, full of bars and restaurants, the hotel is pleasant and calm. Large and comfortable rooms and really friendly and kind staff at the reception desk, who helped us arrange our transfers and bookings for restaurants and activities. Good breakfast, combining Vietnamese and Western specialities. Very recommendable.
This hotel is so lovely. We arrived after an early flight and couldn’t check in so left our bags and went to explore Hue. It is in an excellent location and we walked everywhere we went. The hotel and the room itself were so clean and modern and seemed far more expensive that what we paid for our 1 night. I wish we could have stayed longer it was a pleasure to stay here.
This was one of the best hotels we have stayed at in Vietnam. From the welcoming and helpful staff at check in and throughout our stay, the wonderfully maintained facilities and the little touches, we were very happy with our stay. Room was well appointed, beds comfortable, the breakfast excellent. All in all, a lovely place to spend a few days.
Comfortable set of rooms with excellent views in a modern hotel in central Hue. The location is excellent with food options around the corner, the Perfume River about 5 minutes' walk and the Citadel about 20 minutes' walk. The staff were very helpful with arranging a driver to nearby tombs and pagodas, and the breakfast and pool were also great.
The building is new, clean, beautiful. Was my best stay in Vietnam. Tranh, the manager, is so kind and helpful! He prepare a list of suggestions with restaurants to eat each Hue local food, that was amazing! And he helped us booking the drivers we needed. If I have the chance to go back to Hue one day, would like to stay in Lemi again.
I had a delightful stay at Serene Palace Hotel. The reception staff are lovely, and the cleaning staff are very efficient.
The hotel is in a great location, with Vinmart, coffee shops, restaurants, and laundry within easy walking distance.
If I ever return to Hue, I would always stay at the Serene Palace Hotel.
Maya Homestay is in a great location. Close to some great restaurants and killer Bun Bo Hue. Rooms were clean, spacious, and well appointed. Everything you need in a hotel. Laddy and his family were incredibly hospitable. Bending over backwards to get us transportation when Hue flooded and everything shut down.
Beautiful lobby, with fantastic paintings from Bui Huu Hung.
Very large bed in a very nicely decorated room.
A real 5 stars hotel for the price of a 2 stars in Europe.
Staying in this great place and visiting the beautiful imperial city, this is more than justifying a trip to Hué !
incredible experience in Hue. rained the whole time so the hotel experience was so important. used the pool in the rain and it was still awesome. would be even better in good weather.
breakfast was the best we have had yet in Vietnam. so many choices and endless buffet.
Everything the hosts were extremely helpful. Their recommendation for dinner provided our best dining experience of all during our three week vacation in Vietnam. Their location is in central Hue convenient to river walk, restaurants and shopping but is very quiet.
We booked the room with the massage included. The room, location, breakfast and staff were all amazing. However, the massages by Phuoc, Hung and Thu were incredible. A brilliant experience. Thank you so much everybody at Senna Hue Hotel!
Great location along a quiet street, but only 5 min walk to restaurants and busier part of hue, the room was clean and the staff we're so helpful and kind. Would recommend for travellers who like a hotel away from the busier areas.
Staff was very nice, helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and comfy, location was very good, hotel is in the city, easy to go to discover some famous places in Hue as Linh Mu pagoda, Huong(Perfume) river and Đông Ba market...
Probably the nicest hotel we’ve stayed in, in Vietnam. Lovely staff, a true 5 star hotel. The sky bar was lovely as was the room. I wish we had stayed longer.
