Apartamentos Oliveira was absolutely perfect and exceeded all of our expectations. It is located a short distance outside of downtown Madalena which gives it a more remote vibe but is still close enough that you can walk to Madalena with no trouble. If you don't want to venture into Madalena, Cella Bar is just across the street for food and drinks. Our apartment was clean and had all the necessities of a home away from home. The property is beautifully maintained and someone has put a lot of effort into cultivating a huge variety of gorgeous succulents in every available space. We were fortunate to meet the owners of the property on our first night there. They welcomed us as friends and we spent a lovely evening chatting with them.

Location was great with view of the Pico volcano and the neighbor island Faial. The friendliness and the willingness to help of both the hosts, Franzi and Tom, was extraordinary. The walk to the town center, the ferry terminal and the whale watch companies was a short 10 minutes. The hints of what to do in Pico and Faial island of Tom were very helpful.

Hosts were extremely friendly and offered services. Essentials to get us by were in the apartment. The location was perfect. We were right downtown in Madalena, 5 minute walking distance to port and close to many restaurants. O Cinco was one of our favourites.
