Was a bit dubious when I booked as it seemed such a cheap price... but was actually a really great place. Parking outside, big room with lovely modern bathroom and really close to the beach and cafes.

The guesthouse is situated perfectly in order to have access to the Durham city center, but also feel out of the bustle of the city. The staff consistently went above and beyond to make us comfortable and ensure we enjoyed our stay. I cannot recommend them enough!

She greeted us with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. Their attention to detail and personalized service made us feel right at home from the start. The accommodations were impeccable. Our room was elegantly decorated, offering a cozy ambiance that invited relaxation. The clean and cozy bedding ensured a restful night's sleep, and waking up to the tranquil surroundings was a rejuvenating experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious breakfast served each morning. Prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, each dish was a culinary delight. The communal dining area fostered a sense of camaraderie among guests, making for lively conversations and shared experiences. Overall, our stay at The Hill was nothing short of magical. The combination of exceptional hospitality, comfortable accommodations, and idyllic surroundings made for an unforgettable experience. Located in Middleton in Teesdale, Brunswick House features a bar. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the guest house free of charge. Charming, comfortable, quiet. Good art and old style pottery, white woodwork, cozy. Beatrice Potter would have been right at home.

Featuring a shared lounge and views of garden, Lily Hill Farm is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Barnard Castle, 8.4 km from Bowes Museum. Lovely place, warm and welcoming. Extremely gracious hospitality. Exceptional in every way.

A family run business who make you feel warm and welcome from the time you book until you leave. The location is perfect as a base for exploring the local area. I feel I have to mention the very high standard of food. Its not the run of the mill bar food here. Its food fitting of a Manor house. I only wish we had stayed longer to try everything on the menu. All very reasonably priced as well. Real ale behind the bar and an open log fire. Large selection of drinks and food all day and the breakfast was spot on. Whether you are looking for a place to stay or after a meal with a proper local feel then you won't be let down if you give the Manor House a try. Well worth a visit.

Situated in Bishop Auckland, 43 km from Beamish Museum, The Saxon Inn features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Everything was good. The room was very comfortable. This little place would be our place to stay next time we are in the region.
