Barreal is a simple village with a quiet life.
Barreal is a simple village with a quiet life. You need to have a car to move around. Not to be missed the observatory for star gazing and the wind carts in Pampa de Leoncito with Familia Toro. Also, if you are a horse lover do look for Mr Carlos Villaroel. He has a great herd of horses that are used to go up in the Andes. He is an experienced and friendly guide with a family tradition of horsemanship. Alto Barreal by the main square (a little bit hidden but worth looking for it) is the place for "picadas" or assortment of cold cuts and cheese.akiraCanada

The only downside is it's a 2km walk to the nearest restaurant, but there is a nearby corner store and kitchen where you can cook, so it's ideal for someone staying a few days.
