I like the location. Traunsee and surroundings are just awesome. Staff was very polite and friendly. Hotel is pet-friendly (18 EUR per pet per night), we traveled with our cat. The bed was quite comfortable. Our room has floor heating - that's cool.

Great location, short trip to everything.
Great location, short trip to everything. Awesome staff, they'll help you with anything. Cooled drink room where you could pick your drinks (wine,water,beer) only negative was the trafic sound into rooms. Highly recommend it.

Altmunster is a strange town, which can be classified as an...
Altmunster is a strange town, which can be classified as an unknown spot. It is very close to Gmunden in which you can find people from all over the world, but in 2 km far one can see 85 cars with local registration, 10 with german and 5 all the rest from 100 cars. It has not as many attractivities for the tourists and that's why the restaurants are 10-15 % cheaper than in Gmunden with the same or higher quality.

Incredible scenery and atmosphere. Plenty to do in the area. Altmuenster itself is quiet apart from some busy restaurants so any shopping or sightseeing has to be done in gmunden. There are boat trips and water sports at the very clean beautiful lake and plenty of hiking and mountain bike trips to do. Cable cars take you up if you don't want to walk.catering is superb, we never had a disappointing meal and not overly expensive.I recommend the 'Auszeit ' cafe throughly, open 7 days until midnight.BarbaraUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0

Lovely places to eat beside the lake - Valentinos Pizza recommended. Also Die Stube im Maximilianhof, lovely old restaurant, atmosphere with good food but not near the lakeside. Good quality fruit in local Spar supermarket. Park with bathing facilities on the lake.

We loved how quiet and remote the house is, and the neighbors’ goats behind the house delighted the children for hours. The design is beautifully rustic yet facilities modern and comfortable. House only about 10 minutes drive from beautiful Altmünster and Gmunden, and Traunsee. Loved this stay!ShellyIsrael

I traveled by bicycle, and I was exhausted when I arrived. The staff were very welcoming. There was a small delay in preparing some forms for me to sign, so the staff quickly gave me dinner in the restaurant while we waited. The food was phenomenal. The rooms were perfect, and I had a very peaceful sleep. This is now my hotel of choice every time I come to Traunsee.

And if you have a room with a balcony it's even better. The hotel has a restaurant which serves really good food. The personal was very nice. We had a problem with our room and they quickly fixed it. In front of the hotel there are multiple benches where can sit and admire the view. But I recommend the rocking chair which is very relaxing.

Quiet also, we could only hear the sound of the stream below. We had a nice view of the mountains in the distance. There is a beautiful beach next to the lake with restaurants in the vicinity. Definitely worth a visit, it offers amazing views of the lake and mountains around. Basic continental breakfast is available at extra cost.

In one of the rooms I stayed the shower was directly in the room separated just by a glass wall. The sink was directly in the room. The rooms with the lake view feature a terrific view on Traun See. Facing east-south, it makes them very hot in summer.
