In November you do not have much to do there.
In November you do not have much to do there. We found only on restaurant and one café house open, nothing else. I did not get why any (zero!) souvenir shop is not existing there - I am sure tourists would appreciate to buy some small souvenirs and support the local business by doing this.

Very lovely small little town at the lake, it has plenty restaurants with amazing views of the lake and mountains. Suitable for family with small kids like us as it also has plenty playgrounds and lots of outdoor activities such as swimming.

Nice and clean lake - no fish smell.
Nice and clean lake - no fish smell. Water is a bit cold, but that was expected. Mountains around the lake Traunsee look amazing. Lake surroundings were really nice, clean and cared for. Ice-cream at Giovanni's was really tasty.

We were there for 3 nights, the stay could have been longer,...
We were there for 3 nights, the stay could have been longer, but not much. The bus service between Grmund and Traunkirchen was terrible. Busses didn't come when they were supposed to, and when a bus finally came (2) they drove right past us. Which forced us to take a taxi. We heard about the train too late in our stay to make any use of it.

The bed was very comfy and the staff were friendly :) The area of Mittendorf and nearby Traunkirchen is absolutely serene and peaceful. There is a private swimming area for guests of the two sister hotels which is just lovely. There's a paddleboat at the dock which is great for families. Come to the Pension Waldeck to get away from it all and take it the oaky aromas, stunning views and quiet.AuraIreland

The room's interior, filled with tiny helpful stuff was very romantic. The staff was super friendly and helpful. And the breakfast! That was probably the best breakfast we ever had. Definitely, this hotel is worth staying for more than just one night. However, we didn't have a chance to have dinner in the hotel's restaurant, because everything was booked, and we are sorry about that, so don't forget to book hotel's restaurant for your dinner;)Friendly MisanthropeUkraine

Owner family very friendly and helpful to recommend activities around (like hiking to Feuerkogel or to enjoy skywalk on Grunberg) . Hotel is "green" sustainable energy production. By recommendation of Josef (owner), we travel to Hallstatt via train where train station is just 5min walk. Our room had very nice terrace from which you can look on Traunsee as well to nice chapel up the hill.

It is spacious, comfortable, well equipped and immaculate, with a gym, sauna and bikes available. We hired the electric car, which was ideal for exploring the local area. Josef made us feel very welcome and helped ensure that we had a really relaxing stay in Traunkirchen. Hopefully we will be back there soon!

Monica has such a warm heart. It is good that people like her still exists. The location is a few km located from the Traunkirchen itself but hey, the village is only a parking place and a restaurant anyway. Highly recommended if you want to have a good bed located in the heart of the Austrian nature.

We loved the food and atmosphere in the hotel´s restaurant. Many thanks to the lovely lady (unfortunately, I don´t remember her name) who served our table. She was very nice and spoke a bit of Czech with us which made us feel welcome.
