It was a bigger place than we had expected with extra amenities. It was very clean and furniture was comfortable. The owner was very communicative and friendly. They had even labelled the light switches and had provided board games ready to go!

Penneshaw was great.
Penneshaw was great. Quiet and close to ferry and food options. When you get off the ferry you think there is not much here but look around the side streets and you find many options. It is only half an hour to Kingscote and to the main tourist loop. Penneshaw has a beautiful safe beach, skate park and playground plus hikes for the more adventurous. There is a small supermarket for anything you may need to be self sufficient. Otherwise there are 2 hotels and 2 cafes, all providing eat-in or take-away food as well as a take-away food shop. We were there in January.

The ocean views from the apartment were amazing.
The ocean views from the apartment were amazing. The apartment was well equipped and had everything we needed. It was not far from the ferry terminal. The IGA supermarket is walking distance from the apartments and also was easy to get around the island in our car for gin tasting, wine tasting and a visit to the honey farm.

It was close to the ferry and great local food. Great home base to get to all the sights. The little penguin night tour is excellent. People were wonderful and friendly. Great beach to walk along and swim in close to accomodation. Millpond where we stayed was excellent 5 star property for us we would stay there again and recommend it. Great views from the Millpond. It is a goodvidea to do your research beforehand and plan your trip. We wanted an overall look at the island itself and to eat out occasionally. We achieved our goal in five days some long and some short and with built in rests. Other people may want to participate in activities and there seem to be plenty of options. Although it is an island highlights are spaced so be prepared fir lots of driving whatever your choices. And look out for the native animalsDonaldAustralia - 10Scored 10

We have had a great time here and seen a lot of kangaroos and wallabies around the house. The view is breathtaking and the sound of the birds in the morning is mesmerising. The night sky is awesome, but it was cloudy for most days.MaheshAustralia

Millpond is walking distance to some sites like the Penneshaw Sculpture Trail and the Contemplation Seat just to name a few. Millpond is approximately 2hr drive to Flinders Chase National park, about 1hr to Little Sahara Adventrure Centre and about 30mins to Cape Willoughby Lighthouse. We loved the uninterrupted ocean views, the fireplace, comfy lounges and beds at Millpond. Everything we could ask for in a holiday rental was supplied by our friendly hosts. We defiantly stay at Millpond when we return to Penneshaw next time :)
