The hotel is set in an old house, once owned by a monk, with very traditional features and an altar on the second floor. The ambiance was great, and dinner and breakfast were excellent. Wangchuk, our host, was very knowledgable about the history of the place, the local cuisine, and Bhutan in general. The sleeping quarters are located at a separate building next to the old house. This hotel functions as a cooperative, so many people from the village work there, maintaining alive old traditions, and serving dishes that are no longer found elsewhere. The location is perfect to visit the two temples in the village by foot.
