Gite la Maison Rochefort, hotel in Baie-Sainte-Catherine

This B&B is just 2 km from Baie Saint Catherine Ferry dock, departure point for whale watching cruises. It overlooks Saint Lawrence River and features free Wi-Fi in all rooms.

The guesthouse is beautifully located overlooking the St. Lawrence River. The rooms are extremely clean, and there is a large comfy common area that can be used for reading and playing board games. The hosts are lovely and attentive. They speak pretty much French only but will do everything to make you feel comfortable if you don't...

Breakfast is offered at this small hotel near Quebec’s Charlevoix Mountains and the Saguenay Fjord. The hotel and attached café offer views of St. Catherine Bay, directly across the road.

Very nice people, a great history and an amazing location. We spent part of the night and morning talking with the owners and we came back home making plans to another visit during summer.

Motel la Maison de Travers, hotel in Baie-Sainte-Catherine

Motel la Maison de Travers is located in a quiet area with access to the nearby Route 138. It offers on-site whale watching tours. Guests can enjoy views of the Saint Lawrence and the waterfront.

The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Fridge was very useful, since there are no grocery stores or restaurants for several kilometres. The room entrances face away from the road, making the rooms quiet. Nice view of the woods.

Hôtel Sous la Croix 152725, hotel in Baie-Sainte-Catherine

Hôtel Sous la Croix is located in Tadoussac, 5 minutes' walk from the village center and features panoramic views of St. Lawrence River.

The front of the hotel looks out over Tadoussac and the view is lovely. Wood-panelled room with cottage vibe. Smallish shower in a perfectly functional bathroom. No coffee-maker in the room but there is a kitchenette with a coffee-maker and coffee pods for sale (2$). The walk into town is steep but not very long, however the way back seemed longer. We walked down to the whale-watching boat and were happy we did not have to find and pay for parking.

Baie Sainte-Catherine is a remote area reached by a highway with extreme grades and a lot of turns. It's popular with tourists for challenging hiking and whale-watching. Most of the accommodations are older and basic; les Chalets de la Colline is the best place to stay. There is only one small Co-op grocery store. If you like nature and have all of your provisions with you, this is a great place to explore and unwind.

We stayed there for 2 nights.

We stayed there for 2 nights. If you plan to do your own cooking, prepare in advance. There is only one store around for grocery and gas and the prices are a bit higher. There is only restaurant, it says it closes in 9pm but actually works till 8pm and the staff is not very friendly. If you go to Tadoussac, plan your trip, you have to catch the ferry between 9 and 10 am if you don't want to wait 2 hours.

We loved the Pointe-Noir Parks Canada Interpretation Centre.

We loved the Pointe-Noir Parks Canada Interpretation Centre. Very well done! Beautiful views of the mouth of the Saguenay and the St. Lawrence River and interesting history of the lighthouse and fog-horn. Nice picnic tables too, but down a lot of stairs! Bring your lunch with you at the beginning of your visit! There is also a beach to walk along in Baie-Ste-Catherine.

Everything, the staff was wonderful, rooms cute and clean. Location was ideal, especially for my dogs with the beach right there. The pictures of this hotel/motel do not do it justice. I highly recommend. Ferry less then 5 minutes away and Port for whale watching 1 minutes drive basically. Perfect location and I will definitely stay there again. The beds were very comfortable.

Very nice little hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel is located right beside the whale watching point, 1 minute away with a car. The place has its own restaurant that I can recommend as well :)

Old, very charming house with really kind hosts. More B&B than hotel-feeling. Restaurant in the hotel, good food and good breakfast with first real hot chocolate (and no sugarwater with chocolate flavor) during entire stay so far in Canada.

The location is very good. Not far from the ferry. I would enjoy the backyard of the hotel, but it was rainy. So this is a great idea to place bbq with chairs in there.
