Everything - Ash and his lovely wife welcomed me into their home (always responsive & available in case I needed anything). Very kind and ready to help. It was indeed a home away from home.
The basement has its own private entrance. It is equipped with all the essentials and in a very quiet neighbourhood.
It has a good WiFi and its own laundry room. The room size is great (can take 2 people) with its own cabinet.
Everything was clean when I arrived.

I went to study and take proctored exams, however I didn't mention this at time of booking and was given a room right next to the elevator. After my 1st exam taken in this room I was stressed as you could hear talking out side my door while waiting for their elevator and this could affect my whole course. So, I asked if I could be moved to a quiet room. The staff was AHMAZING!! So polite and helpful. I really appreciated them. Would so stay there again for the same reason.

The security guards and night managers were creepy and power tripping
Check-in was a nightmare. Inexperienced staff who said we didn't have a reservation even though we booked and paid for two rooms through booking.com and had the reservation number.
We had to pay for two more rooms to stay overnight. Now with booking.com helping we are trying to get a refund for the extra rooms we paid for. At checkout the woman found our reservation with booking.com
Very noisy with highway traffic. Only good thing was the free breakfast. "Stay Away"

Nothing was good. Left early. Not clean. No fresh linen, sleeping in the last persons sheets. Slept on hide a bed, you could feel the springs. Transferred to another property, overbooked!!! Put me on the 2nd floor, I have emphysema, he knew. Wanted a bathtub, shower only! Not a hotel/motel but a R + B. No appliances in room! Don't book with this guy.

I like Whitby and the destination was right by the go train so we could go to a concert in Toronto. It was the hotel that was bad avoid motel 6. I was not expecting the Royal York for the money we paid but I did expect cleanliness.

This building was terrible.
This building was terrible. Requested an early check in amd found out upon arrival that our room wasn't ready. Told we were being upgraded to a nicer room. The room we were given was disgusting. No water pressure. Tub drain was rotting and looked like it hadn't been cleaned out in months. Bed was terribly uncomfortable. The hallways were cluttered with rolls of baseboard trim. Plus, the entire building smelled like cigarette smoke. Do not recommend.

We were in Toronto for a couple of ball games and decided to stay in Whitby. We have stayed at Quality Suites multiple times but this was the worst. We arrived at 7:50 pm. There was a line up to check in. The front desk person was new and very considerate but slow. When our turn finally came he announced that our room was not ready because they were short on housekeepers. He left the desk to check to see what rooms were clean. Thank you for not sending us to a dirty room. We waited another 15 mins for his return.
When we finally did get to our room, it was not great but manageable. The room smelled very musty. There were no bath towels except for the dirty one on the back of the bathroom door. We got new ones from the front desk. There were multiple lights that did not function. There was a large stain on the couch. There were black spots on the bedroom lamp. Photo below. The TV was very fuzzy on most channels. There was a loud pulsating sound in the bedroom the entire visit.
The breakfast attendent was constantly complaining about how busy it was and that it was only her. Clearly this hotel needs more staff and some TCL. I began to tell these issues to the front desk only to be told to call the manager on Monday after 9am as there was no manager on the weekend. Would not recommend this place.
Worst customer service, mentioned on my booking with breakfast, no breakfast at all, and also i booked in whitby as apartment, it was a basement and totally different city which had to drive over an hour for nothing and the tenant was so careless, i will file the complain at ontario customer protection at tico because this was a pure scam and top of all every day at 7 morning renovation was starting right next to our rooms and also booking customer service didn't do much
The apartment owners were very sweet. The location was excellent to whitby and other areas we wanted to visit.
The bathroom was large. Clean and no concerns.
The closet was huge.
They had a coffee pot, toaster, and microwave.
We felt safe with the lock system.
The owners assisted us with their streaming channels.
They had an iron and ironing board.
The fireplace was easy to use on cold evenings.
Entrance to accommodation was well lite.
I love the hospitality from the hosts. Also the cost of a room for a night is so affordable and cheap to all without exception.Property is well situated at the heart of Whitby central town where other services like restaurants, banks, grocery or convenient stores are readily available at walkable distances.Security too is guaranteed at all times by the host to make his guests feel at home out of home.
Price was ok, location to restaurants was good, the ladies at the check in desk were amazing... loved their energy. I like the fact you have redone the flooring and taken out the carpeting at the Whitby location... Peterborough needs to get on that change as the carpet has seen better days.
Tue staff was helpful and understanding. We booked and pre-paid through booking.com which did not specify extra charge $15 per dog. At the hotel they decided to wave the charge as it was not mentioned on the booking site. Now that is the right way to do business!
I especially loved the bed. Most comfortable bed I had in a hotel in a long time. The pillows were great as well.
I loved that I could open the window as I cannot sleep with the noisy air conditioning unit so I was thankful I could unplug it.
Front desk staff was to busy dealing with AC issues I know some rooms on upper floors were having issues with.
They were dealing as best they could.
It was nice to us the common areas to watch the playoff hockey.
It was fine just cold. Heat wouldn't go past 66°F. Oh and the TV wasn't that great. But it delivers same as most hotels I'd say. If some was asked me if it was tolerable I'd give it the thumbs up.
