Sweet location just on the edge of town, we stayed one night as we did a bioluminescent tour from Paquera. I enjoyed the pool. The staff were lovely, especially the chef who made some great vegetarian food for me. He was really friendly and helpful.

Mauras Tropical Mini Hostel & Tours, hotel in Paquera

The Mauras Tropical Mini Hostel & Tours, located in Paquera de Puntarenas, has a small garden. The property is about 6 km from Slilvestre Curu Life Refuge and 6 km from Organos Beach.

I was very tired when I arrived and since the hostel wasn't very busy they upgraded my room for my best comfort. I didn't even ask them, but they were so kind to offer me a bigger, quieter room at no extra costs. The next day my onward travel turned out to be more complicated than expected using public transport, but the owner was so nice to take me to a better bus stop in another town. Very helpful indeed. Thank you so much

Jungle Tent 3x3, Latino Glamping & Tours, Paquera, hotel in Paquera

Offering a garden and garden view, Jungle Tent 3x3, Latino Glamping & Tours, Paquera is situated in Paquera, 9.2 km from Tortuga Island and 33 km from Montezuma Waterfal.

This place is a heaven on Earth. The ultimate jungle experience in Costa Rica. I liked everything about it. It's as close to nature as you can get. The owners were absolutely amazing, everything was neat and outdoorsy. At night you can hear coyotes howling and you wake up in the morning with howling monkies call. There's a beach nearby where you can be totally on your own. There's a path through the jungle with lots of wildlife to see. The Paquera town is also close by so you can get your supplies if needed. I will definitely book again for a longer time when I travel to Costa Rica again.

This apartment was very centrally located with stores and restaurants within walking distance. Many beaches and activities were within a 15 minute drive. The kitchen was well stocked with all you need to make delicious meals, including appliances. Fast WIFI, large flat screen TV with cable and streaming, air conditioning, great mattress, very up-to-date. The photos do not deceive you. The host was very nice, knowledgeable and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

Fully Furnished FAMILY JUNGLE TENT, Latino Glamping Paquera, hotel in Paquera

Offering garden views, Fully Furnished FAMILY JUNGLE TENT, Latino Glamping Paquera is an accommodation situated in Paquera, 9.2 km from Tortuga Island and 34 km from Montezuma Waterfal.

We stayed at the jungle tent for one night as we had arranged to do the Bioluminescence tour with Franco. The location is just perfect, it’s at the end of a long track and is surrounded by forest. The jungle tent was a really good size and it was a short walk to the showers and toilets. The wildlife around the tent was great, we saw a variety of birds, frogs, crabs and howler monkeys. We did the Bioluminescence tour in the evening which was excellent and a really good social with Franco, his assistant and another couple. Afterwards we returned and Franco and Wilma lit a fire for us and joined us for a drink. The reception we received was very warm and Franco and Wilma are lovely people and can’t do enough to help. In the morning we walked to the beach, the dogs joined us and showed us the way. This took around 20 minutes. The beach is wonderful, it’s large and empty. We saw red Macaw there. The visit felt very authentic and a bit of the touristy track which we enjoyed. I highly recommend it.

We loved our hotel and would stay there again.

We loved our hotel and would stay there again. "Rustic" but also charming and with a friendly staff. We took the Tortuga Island snorkeling trip through Bahia Rica and highly recommend that company. The boat took us to several islands to see beautiful wildlife and gorgeous scenery. We also took a bioluminescence tour which was very fun.

We chose Paquera for the boat trip to Isle of Tortuga.

We chose Paquera for the boat trip to Isle of Tortuga. We booked through Project Expedition Bahiarica and were very happy with our day on the boat with snorkeling and some time on the island. We went to breakfast and dinner at several restaurants there in Paquera and we’re happy with all of them. The beach at Playa Giganitis was amazing with lots of monkeys in the trees at the end of the beach. The town itself is small with few motels but plenty of restaurants and gorgeous beaches. The people were very friendly!

Three days and four nights was perfect for us. There's honestly not a lot to do in Paquera, but it was a great place to be. Nice local vibe, less tourists than other areas. It has a real local feel to it.

Paquera is crossroads town and a good place to catch the ferry back to Puntarenas if you're coming from Montezuma. There is a lot of traffic in town and it's very dusty but they are paving as of Feb. 2020. Swimming in bio-luminescent waters is a truly amazing experience and worth the stop here. However, beware of the food place at Organo Beach. Be sure you get a quote for whatever you order. We didn't and it was by far our most expensive meal in all of Costa Rica! It was yummy but not worth the exorbitant price we paid.

Didn’t spend time in the town but outside of town was pretty special. Bioluminescence night kayaking was the reason we came here. It was a cool experience to kayak at night, watching both the incredible visibility of the stars above and the sparkling flourescence below.
