Hotel zum Schiffchen, hotel in Brüggen

Located within 23 km of Borussia Park and 25 km of Kaiser-Friedrich-Halle, Hotel zum Schiffchen provides rooms in Brüggen.

We had an excellent room with a nice terrace and all the facilities we needed. In the morning, we had a delicious breakfast. The hotel is located in the centre of Brüggen, close to various restaurants, shops and bars. The small town is the ideal starting point to discover the wooded area around Brüggen by bike or on foot. Joanne is a lovely host.

Bueggen and its surroundings are very beautiful but it would be handy to have a car (we didn't). Favourite places were the castle, the mill and the Torschenke and the walks along the river Schwalm and the Woods through to Schloss Dilborn. The Hariksee is also worth seeing but you would need a car.

I believe that the Bruggen City is the Historical city as well as very calm and availability of agricultural activities. we have seen little in the locality as we have not day time to see the vicinity. therefore we wish to recommend to visit others.

    Great nature.

Great nature. The woods are great to ride a mountenbike or a regular bike. Bruggen is a small town. We didn't visit the city center. We did visit the Christmas market in Düsseldorf which was great.

This was a return visit for us after 35 years away so a bit of a trip down memory lane. Brüggen is a small town with excellent walking and cycling facilities in the area. It is a short walk to any of the local lakes such as Hariksee or Bornersee. The town centre is of historic interest and well worth a visit to the river to see the Nutria as the rest and eat on the grass banks. There is a good choice of restaurants and the local ice cream parlour is well worth a visit.
