The whole hotel was immaculate and beautifully decorated. There's a sunlit breakfast room (windows on 3 sides) for the excellent breakfast. The outdoor terrace overlooking the Mosel River was lovely; and offers delicious cakes and pizza for purchase in the afternoon. This is a family-owned hotel that is carefully maintained and operated with love and pride. Great Location: we enjoyed walking the narrow back streets of Ediger-Eller, admiring traditional buildings with grape vine arbors and charming, uniquely decorated doorways. We also had a beautiful day hike in the forest and vineyards above the town. There is a bus stop near the hotel for transportation to other villages.

We had a huge room with a high ceiling on the second floor that overlooked the river. We also opted to have a room with an air conditioner. The bedding included down duvets - a particular favorite. We were there on the wine festival weekend so it was nice to be near the festivities. The staff were very accommodating, both when we checked in and throughout the weekend. Breakfast was available at the cafe next door but had to be booked in advance and paid for separately.

We absolutely loved Villa Vie! The room was large and provided comfortable amenities (bed, chaise lounge). Our room had a castle/river view which was breathtaking! They have tons of wine to take to your room or share on the patio that overlooks the river / castle.
