Papenburg was nice but we felt one day was enough.
Papenburg was nice but we felt one day was enough. There is a nice pedestrianised area along a canal with shops, bars and restaurants. There is a park and also a large lake close by. We felt that if you are looking for a quiet couple of days away it would be ok. We had a fantastic dinner in the pedestrianised area at Restaurant MediTerra, and had fish of the day, whole grilled seabass, it was reasonably priced and the staff were lovely.

There's a large (for an old city) parking space for customers. I had a quiet room overlooking the garden. Everything was fine and clean, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good with a good amount of choice. All in all, a good stay.
