a cousins gathering to celebrate several birthdays…80 in Germany is a special event…the hotel is classic and originated as such in 1850…paint and trim kept up with the classic architecture and style….the food and service were classic and excellent…the breakfast buffet solid in its variety of breads, brotchen, cheeses, meats and cereals.

We would recommend for other travelers coming via public transportation to download the NVV (nvv.de/en) app or use the website to find available bus routes to take once arriving by train a few towns over. The hotel is off the beaten path (which is part of the charm of it and makes it so special!). This is a great experience to stay in an actual castle where everything is arranged with love to history and fairy tales. Breakfast was delicious and it was served in the atmospheric places. As a great bonus you can access the tower decorated inside with fairy taile motifs.
