Centrally located which suited my purposes as it was near the rail station, ferry terminal and the city centre . It has a balcony which I found was helpful. The staff are to be commended for their polite ness and good manners. Also the receptionist helped prepare a packed breakfast as I had to leave early in the morning. This is exceptional service and was much appreciated.

I liked that it is so near the port. We were travelling to Morocco by ferry and the stop in Algeciras was welcomed.

Big room with kitchen. I could live in an apartment this size.
Host speaks English and publishes his own map of the town.
Bar/ Cafe Nun next door is hottest in town. Yolanda and Drew speak excellent english and welcome interactions with visitors.

It is a great place to get ferries to Morocco or to get the shuttle to Tarifa to do the same.
I have been before and found it to be a pleasant small town with a good patisserie/bakery that had Moroccan foods (briouwats, mini pastilla, etc).
The reason for the 'average' rating of the town stems from the fact that the place I booked was unhelpful and would not allow me to access the property at midnight even though I had paid in advance. As a result I was stranded and had to wander about at night, sleep on a too short stone bench and cat nap until the FRS ticket offices opened.
Algeciras is reasonably easy to navigate on foot. There are some cafés by the central market that open early for the traders. There is also a Carrefour express in the area between the train Station and the port with a full selection of goods.
I cannot rate 'Conv3nient R00ms - F3rry, Tr@in & Bus $tation' as I was not allowed entry to the property at midnight (late trains, missed connections) having paid for in advance my room. Unfortunately the proprietor was not helpful and I was left wandering the streets all night as not other hostals were open. A cold night with a very short stone bench! (Perhaps this is a rating?) I would avoid this place on my next visit and look for a better rated (more expensive hostal/hotel.
I would love to return yet again to Algeciras under better conditions and have an actual 'holiday there, rather than using it merely as a travel interchange. The town looks lovely and no doubt has things to offer away from the mildly salubrious Tran Station/Port area.

Gibraltar can not be reached by train, and one needs to stay a night somewhere to explore Gibraltar. Algeciras is ideal for this stay, and if you are here, then spend some hours for walking Algeciras,

After being in Marocco for 2 months, it felt like I was still in Marocco, but at the bus station, you can get a bus ticket to Madrid for €21.78, it's a 9 hr bus ride and only makes a 30 min stop, but it was worth it, didn't like Algeciras, but the stay at the Hostel was brilliant, only thing the property needs to do is, undated on how you enter the property.

A much more authentic experience of a Spanish small city/town. Less busy than most other locations in this area and we loved it. We could easily have stayed a week. Very good tuna combo plate at Maridaje.

We weren't intending to stay here but had an extra day due to the ferry cancellation. The centre was small enough to walk round and was interesting enough without having anything really noteworthy.

a really nice city, they are a lot of options to eat Typical food there, i ate Tapas and lot of ham, to get around you can simply walk, take a taxi or just use the public transport. we liked going out and have a few drinks wich was not a problem because all the options that are around the city.
Superb location, just outside the Algeciras Railway Station and in the same building complex as the Algeciras Bus Station (with regular local buses to La Linea/Gibraltar). The Ferry terminal is 5-10 minutes walk away, as is the surprisingly pretty old-town area of Algeciras.
Meals in the hotel restaurant, where I had dinner, were inexpensive and of good quality, I also had the buffet-breakfast which comprised of a full range of cooked items, fruits and pastries etc.
- This hotel is like a pearl in a treasure box, you have the best view to both Gibraltar and Morocco.
- The hotel owner was super nice and helpful with any types of questions.
- The owner made us breakfast packs including a sandwich, fruit and drinks as breakfast for a day which we wanted to leave very early morning.
- The breakfast of the other days was fantastic. He made us a table of all options, a luxurious and romantic table. Just loved that!
I liked the location, very close to the harbor and a beautiful park near …many snackbars, busstation walking distance
Friendly personnel of the hotel.
Only one night I stayed, because I took a ferry from Morocco, Ceuta to Algeciras.
From Algeciras I took a bus to Sevilla.
Top!
this was a perfect place to stay for the one night when we arrived from the ferry . we walked from the ferry and conveniently caught the bus at the station attached to the hotel . Older hotel but very clean and comfortable beds . price was right too
In a great area of Algeciras, the bed was very comfortable and it was very clean. We did not have the breakfast as we had to leave early in the morning for our ferry to Morocco. The port ferry terminal is 25 minutes walk from the Hotel.
Didn’t get key code details in advance so were expecting to be met on our arrival so we’re panicking but all ok in the end Excellent location in San Isidro the nicest part of Algeciras Flat was immaculately renovated
Recommend eating in the hotel restaurant. Food was exceptional as was the service, a highlight of our stay. Our room was large with access to the deck with views of Gibraltar as well as of Ceuta and Tangiers.
There is a parking place inside the hotel, but it costs about 15 euro per day. There are many parking spots on the other side of the road.
Breakfast was good.
The stuff is very friendly and was ready to help.
We stayed here before taking the ferry to Morocco. The hotel is a short distance from the ferry port and the train station (we just walked there). Charming old hotel with a bit of history.
We chose this hotel as a short stop during our trip in Spain. The biggest plus was the free parking provided by the hotel. Also, the breakfast was really good. Carrot cake is a must try.
Great location - very convenient to the port, bus and train stations. We were just passing thru Algeciras for the night.
The host was very nice and accommodated us in short notice.
The flat was clean and spacious. Minimalistically decorated and modern. Nothing to complain. Location was in the middle of Algeciras centre, so easy access to restaurants etc.
The hotel was amazing and the rooms were huge and very comfortable. Staff were very efficient at check in
Loved the bath - the water was hot too.
Grounds are lovely.
