It is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. I would highly recommend Casa Rural la Plata. The town of Aljucén is also lovely and a great place to stay when walking the Camino Via de la Plata. The 15th Centuary Church of St. Andrew (also my first name) is also a nice place to say a prayer or to meditate. The church is open for most of the day. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Stopped here for one night on our way down to Morocco on motorbikes. Not much to do in Merida (but we did get there quite late) but the Hotel Velada Mérida is easy to find with barriered secure parking next door. Parking is chargeable BUT if you're on a motorcycle, you can squeeze through the barrier (and the staff know it).
Room was comfortable and breakfast ample, except there was a coach party who had arrived at the same time as us for breakfast, so there was a bit of a queue.
Dinner can be served in their restaurant. Marginally on the expensive side, but it was a good meal. Bar in lobby is a godsend.
Beautiful quiet village, located on the Via de Plata Camino.
Beautiful quiet village, located on the Via de Plata Camino. A visit to the local church was worthwhile.
Great place to rest a day or two if required or use as a base to tour the area. Merida is 20km away!
From the moment I walked into the property, I was warmly welcomed by the staff and made feel very much at home. This was greatly appreciated. The hotel is Roman themed and this atmosphere was achieved very well. Everything was well explained and I got ta chance to enter into the spirit of the hotel. I was walking the Via de la Plata an this was undoubtedly the most enjoyable and welcoming place that I stayed in along the road. I recommend it very highly.

The ambience of the hotel was superb. The Roman theme continued throughout the hotel. Despite arriving after 22:00, the restaurant prepared a wonderful meal.
Pet friendly......... Cannot state enough how welcome our dogs were made. Each had a bowl provided, and there was some dogs treats and poo bags provided
Thoroughly recommend this hotel and the welcoming staff
this is really a wonderful place. the couple that created this small hotel made a truly one of a kind. experience. the facility, the baths, and the dining are first rate.
