The apartment is clean and well looked after. It has all the facilities you could possibly need. Great location as only a short walk to the seafront, local restaurants and shops. Also the hosts are a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend this place and we will be back again 🙂

La Mata is a nice small place with everything you need as a tourist: the banks, post office, bakeries, supermarket, pharmacy, little shops and lots and lots of restaurants; there is not much regional entertainment/ artistic shows, dances etc but perhaps I am not well informed; perhaps I would know more if I had stayed a bit longer or if I had stayed in the season. There are lots of interesting places around La Mata eg. the monastery in La Nevalda, the city of La Leche, a boat trip to las Tabarcas, the city of Guardamar, the city of Orihuela, Alicante I Torrevieja.

La Mata to us was just perfect. Our stay was very enjoyable.
La Mata to us was just perfect. Our stay was very enjoyable. The location in where we stayed was close to the supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, restaurants and of course the beach. The patio door exploded during a storm while I was closing...
The patio door exploded during a storm while I was closing the door. Glass went everywhere. Could have caused a fatal accident. Glazer had to be brought in to replace glass. Bathroom washbasin and bath leaked water onto bathroom floor. Plumber had to be brought in to repair it. This apartment is a dump, never upgraded and unfit for habitation. Also has a bad smell. Lovely town I've been coming here for 30 years.
Lovely town I've been coming here for 30 years. Very Spanish, I've met some lovely Spanish people who over years have become my friends. If you want a quiet family location La Mata is the place to go.

La Mata is pretty nice but mostly seniors and families with babies. Not the best location if you want to party since everything closes at around 00.00 o'clock. Pretty good restaurants, ok supermarket and bus stops to take you to Torrevieja or Alicante. Most restaurant and hotel staff don't speak english.

The private roof terrace is huge, with table and chairs , sun loungers and furniture and has spectacular view, you can see the sea . Olivia and John, the hosts were extremely helpful . It was very clean and there was plenty parking in their car park but it was September so not sure what it is like in high season. Very close to bars and restaurants and the Wednesday market is just a short stroll away. There are many restaurants, fresh fish, grocery, pharmacy, promenade and street market nearby. The kitchen and bathroom were fully equipped with all the tools. A small drawback was the mattresses were not very comfortable. We didn't miss anything. The apartment I really recommend.

Plus, everything I needed, from supermarket to various restaurants, was just behind the corner. It was super clean, the host was friendly, and the garage in the same building was incredibly convenient.
