Can't really say too much about the town as there was torrential rain for most of the evening we were there. It certainly didn't appear to cater for tourists but the people we did meet were friendly and welcoming.

Useful location for Santander, Altamira and Santillana, but...
Useful location for Santander, Altamira and Santillana, but if we went to that area again, we'd stay in one of those locations instead. Much more picturesque than Torrelavega. The photo depicted of Torrelavega looks much more like the Picos de Europa (which are worth visiting).

Go here -this hotel-if would want to get fit, have treatments or want to shop nearby (mainly cheap & traditional goods like local produce). Excellent cycle hire & cycle tracks around the city. Parking difficult apart from perimeter cheap stores: eg Carrefour, Liddl, Aldi. Also good to see the huge indoor market. Some very nice parks & some with children’s play areas. The room was spacious and clean, the bathroom was excellent with amazing water pressure in the shower! I slept nine hours in an incredibly comfortable bed. I really, really liked this place. Within 300 metres are located a convenience store and all the restaurants you will need. If you're a solo traveller and/or travelling by bike, this is the place to stay in Torrelavega.
