The original capital of Finland, Turku is the country’s oldest city that features a bustling harbour, an array of museums and restaurants, and is renowned for being the cradle of Finnish culture.
During the summer Turku’s waterfronts come alive with boat bars and cafés, along with popular festivals such as Ruisrock Festival and Turku Music Festival, which are held in July and August respectively.
The city offers a number of entertainment options and landmarks such as the Wäinö Aaltonen Museum of Art, Turku Cathedral and the medieval Turku Castle, which overlooks the harbour.
Tallink Silja Terminal and Viking Line Terminal offer regular ferry services to destinations such as Stockholm, Åland Islands and Moomin World Theme Park, located on the island of Kailo.

Turku is a very nice smaller city in FInland. There are lots of intereting places to visit in the surrounding area, the river aura, the cathedral, the museum, the harbour, Ruisallo island, the botanical gardens. Also plenty of good places to eat.

We didn't get to see much of Turku, unfortunately.
We didn't get to see much of Turku, unfortunately. We stayed there as it was convenient for Naantali. However, there were a number of museums and galleries etc that I would have liked to have seen.

It is a good experience from spring until autumn.
It is a good experience from spring until autumn. In between everything is gloomer with less opportunities. At any time of year, you should not expect that most people will meet your eyes nor smile. Nature is nice and during the summer there are possibilities visiting archipelago. If you are in the downtown, don't forget to visit over 100 year old Turku market hall, where you can have a great lunch and feel the local vibe. There are also plenty of unique nature walks around the sea or forests close b

Nice places to visit: Turku Castle, Cathedral. The city is beautiful and very clean.
Ate a couple of times at Timbuktu. Very nice African restaurant.
Public transport is cheap, on-time and convenient. It is 3 euros for two hours on any bus line.
The city doesn't sleep in summer time. Firsthand experience!

Just a lovely city with plenty of attractions to visit,...
Just a lovely city with plenty of attractions to visit, naval history, medieval castle, lovely parks, plenty of choice regarding eating out (recommend Panimoravintola Koulu; Lone Star (burgers, fries)), easy to get around by walking, bike and/or scooter. Great base for exploring the islands of the Turku Archipelago. Must see attractions include Luostarimaki open air history quarter, walking or running along the Aura river, Turku medieval castle at Linnanpuisto park, Ispoinen beach and Sauna; various historical sailing ships along the Aura.

I went to Turku for Knotfest, so I didn't have enough time to see all the views. But, since I've been to Turku many times, I can tell you that it is an excellent place to visit with many sights to see, and not overly touristy. I recommend seeing Turun Linna (Turku castle), the River Aura, the old wooden neighborhoods, and the Turku cathedral.
If you are traveling on a budget, the public transport system works well, unless you use it after midnight when music festivals have just finished, such as Knotfest. In that case, be prepared to get ditched by bus drivers. For cheap food, you can download the ResQ app to buy cheap lunches from restaurants and help reduce food waste in the process. We stayed at the Marina Palace because my son had to undergo surgery in Turku. The staff couldn't have been kinder and more understanding, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The room, besides being aesthetically pleasing, boasted every conceivable comfort. The hotel is in a lovely area and is also very central. I really look forward to returning to this hotel someday. Heartfelt thanks to all the staff, for a memorable experience. ❤️
The location of the hotel is very good and close to a lot of restaurants in the center of the town. The hotel itself is very fashionable but also cozy.
The super breakfast with very rich choice.
We liked the parking station connection with the hotel, it was really very comfortable.
Defiantly, we will come back.
The hostel is very nicely located in a foresty area. Our room was very clean. We did not use the breakfast, due to early departure on the ferry. As the shared bathroom is unfortunately very common in Finland, we were lucky that this hostel still had rooms with private toilet and bathroom. Good value for money.
Everything we loved! Staff was wonderful and helpful, hotel is completely new and one of the best looking, cozy, stylish interior.
Absolute stunning looking hotel. Very clean, restaurant in hotel had also very delicious pizza and breakfast had everything you wanted, it was above expectations.
the apartment is fairly new and kitchen is equipped. bathroom is big. that's about it. super-expensive for what you get. looks very nice but it's all a cover up for a kitchen room with two single beds in it. only good thing is location by the harbour museum and walk by the water.
All is as described in BC flat presentation. Good location 10 min from the market place by foot. Quiet, good matress. New building, all is working. Excellent ie. for a couple who seek for a week stay. October day price was half of Turku hotels.
The location. If you turn to the port or the destination of Turku that's a hotel very close to them. Also you can take the bus easily to the city center or Helsinki. The equipment is good for a boat. Living in a museum is very interesting.
Hotel was easy to reach from the railway station, staff was helpful and friendly. Room was roomy and quiet (even if close to roads). The breakfast was served until noon (weekend stay) and it was good basic hotel breakfast.
I had special requests and they filled them all. Staff was very friendly and the room was nice with the view I asked for. Parking was easy and it was easy to explore the city from the hotel. Nothing bad to say!
I think the hotel is an affordable accomodation in Turku. The room was clean, comfortable and quite spacious. A kettle, a fridge and air conditioning were provided. I recommend this hotel.
Great location outside of Turku, but still easily in reach of downtown. Very nice view from seaside room. Staff in hotel & restaurant were very nice, and helpful. A la carte food was good.
Nice and interesting location for a hotel on top of the Kakola hill. My room was clean and had a comfortable bed. A charging station was available for charging electric cars.
The apartment was terrific for my family of 5, and we loved the sauna. The facilities, including the aqua park, were fantastic, and the breakfast was well worth the price.
The hotel is located in the center of Turku, in proximity to all the main attractions, restaurants and cafes. The breakfast was excellent with a good variety of options.
The Host should not spam you with emails and messages (got 20-30 messages), fucking annoying!!!!!!!
