If you are just passing through for a 1 night stay/stopover-...
If you are just passing through for a 1 night stay/stopover- I would drive on. The mountains here are formidable but not beautiful. The area rather 'scrubby' and not beautiful or scenic. It may be different if one is taking time to walk/ski or visit at a different time of year (we visited in pleasant weather in September) i can only comment on our experience and would say there are nicer areas.

Whilst there is no secure parking, there is plenty of room for bikes to be left outside in full view of the hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff, various places to eat out, literally on the doorstep with a very handy bar right next door. My room had a small balcony, was clean, adequate in size and a comfortable room.

Great french breakfast (extra 8€/person). I loved the croissants and the hot chocolate. Parking available in front of the hotel. It is about 30 min drive to Montegenvre We also enjoyed the dinner at one of restaurants in the village (Au Bistrot). Tip visit the castle in Briancon.

One of the owners is a chef so the Demi Pensione dinners were inventive and healthy. The owners speak multiple languages well. They are very attentive and helpful.
