Super location off the beaten track but only a ten minute drive back to Arlanc. Very warm welcome from Mary and Peter, excellent breakfast and glasses of wine to finish off the day, all reasonably priced. The room was as described - 'rustic', full of atmosphere that attaches to the entire building, converted from a barn, using rough hewn timber for panelling and decorative mosaic on the bathroom wall. Everywhere clean and bed comfortable.

On arrival at the property we were disappointed. The sign hanging outside promotes it as being a 4 star establishment, as does Booking.com. I imagine it was when the previous Dutch owners ran the business. And therein lies the problem, all reviews, bar one from an American couple, relate back to 2022 and before when the previous owners had the property. The photos online show the gardens and house in much better condition than it is today. The gardens are unkept and the interior tired. Valerie, the new French owner was friendly and polite, but we left without staying as we felt short changed and disappointed that the property was not as portrayed online. The property’s own website, not related to Booking.com is also misleading. They state that they are a Sawdays property. We looked at Sawdays and they are not listed as I imagine they no longer meet Sawdays standards. Again, from the previous owners outstanding reviews on Booking.com, they would have met Sawdays high standards. Valerie and her husband were friendly and welcoming. However, we sent a polite email to say that we would not be staying and briefly explained why, but did not receive a response. This too added to our disappointment in the overall scheme of things.

Fabulous old buildings in an idyllic setting with great view. The rooms are full of character and beautifully decorated. The hostess is extremely friendly and helpful. The pool is gorgeous with an idyllic view. The breakfast was wonderful
Just a 5-minute drive from the abbey in La Chaise-Dieu, this renovated farmhouse house offers a 15m² terrace with a BBQ. It is composed of a living area downstairs and a bedroom upstairs.

A totally adorable couple of hosts, a beautiful setting and a completely kitted out room. I loved it, it was a pine lodge out of the main house, but what a lovely setting. Superb breakfast, and a friendly banter with a wonderful host. Highly recommended for a biker who needs a rest
