Arrived at hotel to find it shut.
Arrived at hotel to find it shut. No prior notification whatsoever despite my contact details , including email , being available. Sign on door said “closed for building works”. Employee emerging from hotel however said “owner had died”. Draw your own conclusions! No assistance whatsoever offered by employee to find a replacement hotel despite it being late in the day and difficult to travel due to the pandemic.

We had dinner at the hotel in quiet backyard with large umbrellas and comfortable chairs. The service and food was excellent, the champagne and wine cold as it should be.
