Thus hotel and restaurant is tucked away in the French countryside. Staff speak French or German, so we tried our best with our basic French. It was enough to get understood anyway, so we got room and dinner. Food is excellent. There is nothing nearby, so don't expect a tour in the village... Enjoy a good night away from the hustle and bustle of people!

The staff were lovely, the place is in the countryside and quiet and you could eat in the hotel (one night 0 they were closed on the second night)
I had a shower in the room (a free upgrade from a handbasin only), but wierdly, no loo - that was a shared one along the corridor - you could book a room with all conveniences, including a shower & a bath...........
I was in the area to visit friends and didnt get a chance to go up to the 14th C, Chateau as it was raining heavily in the morning of the first day, which I had free - there is a high spire of rock associated with the Chateau - it is intriguing.
I would also like to visit the Chevrerie nearby.........
This was my third time at the Hotel du Windstein. It has so much charm, is super dog friendly and the food is exceptional. Staff are lovely and the prices very fair
