Very poor room unfortunately. Moldy damp smell in room and corridor very poor indeed and very noisy pipes when running water for the shower dreadful experience

The Portland Hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but I had a beautiful, comfortable room right next to Leas Cliff Hall. Friendly staff too. It's an excellent spot if you are visiting for Folkestone parkrun - the start is right next to the hotel.

This hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking the sea and the food in the restaurant is delicious. We had a large number of our wedding guests staying at the hotel and the team organised a group meal for us all the night before. Hana and the team were friendly efficient and always happy to help. One of our family members injured themselves at the wedding and the hotel staff couldn't have been more accommodating when he got back to the hotel in the evening, helping him from the coach back into the hotel and making sure he was comfortable. The rooms were spacious and lovely. Would highly recommend

Alkham is a quiet little village with only the pub, church and park. Perfect to get away when you need A break. The food is to die for!
The drinks options are amazing and the staff now how to look after you.
Dover and Folkestone are between 10-15 minutes away and easy access to everything.

A very pretty Church - a very busy main road with very fast traffic & it was late in the day so we didn’t venture very far! A few walks were visible from the road but walking bouts required on the day of our visit.

The staff very friendly , nice atmosphere in the pub, warm and cosy , nice open fires .
Would have preferred home made fries with our meal rather than frozen as the rest of the meal was a very good standard .
Toast in the morning ok but again packet bread rather than fresh un cut loaf, let it down for the standard of the pub .
The hotel/Inn was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. It had a very plush feel to it. We only had the breakfast as ate out with other members of the family. The breakfast was of good quality and offered a decent range although I should have liked porridge or granola. The coffee was a bit weak but then I like it strong. The staff were very friendly and were always on hand to help.
Firstly, beautiful surroundings with easy and swift access to the Channel Tunnel
Secondly, delightfully and stylishly decorated with charming attention to detail throughout the hotel and in our room
Thirdly, an excellent restaurant - haunch of venison recommended
And finally very good value for money
Staff is very helpful and professional. Especially the manager, Michael, who went above and beyond our expectations to help us during our stay. The hotel is very clean and the bathrooms are very new and modern. The bed was very clean and comfortable.
Beautiful Old Inn and Hotel
Perfectly positioned for Dover or the Eurotunnel with plenty of parking ,excellent food and really good staff
The early start was helped by a wonderful night porter called Philllipe and an amazing packed breakfast
Most unusual room with basins in the actual bedroom. Dinner in the restaurant in the evening was lovely. Nice location with lovely walk up into the hills right behind the hotel. Staff were all very friendly & helpful.
In my opinion we had the best room Thomas Berridge, everything about it was excellent. The whole stay and how we were welcomed was really nice,we'll definitely stay here again just to stay at this lovely hotel.
The views are very fine from the hotel, and the nearby narrow street and church invite exploration. The hotel is comfortable enough, very clean and professionally managed.
The staff were brilliant, welcomg and incredibly helpful. The room was large and decorated to a very good standard. The breakfast offered by the hotel was very good also.
Amazing service from all staff, which is so rare these days. Very stylish and clean boutique pub/hotel. We had very lovely weekends visiting Folkestone and Canterbury!
