My double room was large and very comfortable. I was greeted by the loveliest receptionist who arranged an early check in for me. Continental breakfast was included with the room (not an extra £10 as I had thought it would be). The hotel is in a nice area, minutes walk from the tube station and a large Sainsbury’s grocery shop.

My attraction to Barnet is Oak Hill College, where friends are studying for their degrees in Theology. Barnet itself has nice cafes and restaurants and is a relatively safe and quiet area with easy access to London and Heathrow.

There is a main street within a short walk if you need to get any supplies; there seems to be a pretty good variety of eateries too, although we did not visit any on this visit. While across London with an hour and a half journey, having Heathrow and Cockfosters on the Picadilly Underground (tube) line meant a no change trip from the airport. Brooklyn House is about a ten minute walk to the tube and then about a 30 minute trip into Central London. Further it is on the bus route to the station with the bus stop over the road. The only negative was at the time we were there, which was early July, the elevator was not working. Other than that everything was great.
