A very old inn, combining comfort and the flair of being very old. The room was very spacious, the staff is friendly and helpful, the food is delicious. Brilliant location, within the old town, only 2-3min from the castle.
Definitely the place we will stay in , when we are back.😊

A very inexpensive, comfortable and clean means of short staying somewhere, which is managed very well, by Sue the proprietor, and her small team of administrators and support staff. I booked in for 2 nights, for attendance at the Caernarfon Food Festival, where I was a volunteer on the Yes Cymru stall. If you are comfortable sharing your space with others, maybe outdoorsy folk, then I would thoroughly recommend Ty Glyndwr, if ever visiting Caernarfon, or the nearby Eiri National Park.

Castle interesting and views across to Anglesey beautiful at sunset. Walled town attractive though some of the outer parts a bit run down. Seems a lively place with a buzzing Friday evening social scene. Eating places mostly offering pub grub rather than local produce.(Ok if you like chips)

Magical, Musical, Happy, Dog Friendly and helpful place.
The cobbled streets bekan horses, the Castle stands strong, proud and has witnessed passing of time.
The Marina changes as many times as the moon rising and the sun setting, mirroring the life of the Castle.
Musicians bloom like flowers. Laughter and cheer brings people together here.

Finding somewhere good to eat was difficult, everything thing was closed, it was like a ghost town. Weatherspoons food was horrendous as was the Black Boy Inn, cheap food for an expensive price, wouldnt venture there in a hurry.

Most of the city is around the castle and is very quiet at night. However, in addition to receiving poor service from the property we stayed at, I also found that it was difficult to book restaurants in advance with several websites not working or containing the wrong information, having to make several phone calls to make a booking and bookings made via web sites were not responded to.
Caernarfon and its castle are beautiful, but their use of technology me think that they are still living in the dark ages.

Very interesting town mixing Welsh and English culture.
Very interesting town mixing Welsh and English culture. The castle is the main highlight, and the narrow streets nearby, remnants of the old town. Lots of good places to eat, both for lighter meals and evening outings. Very busy in the summer with tourists, so September is a good time to visit. Lots of interesting things to do or visit nearby, if you have a car. Snowdonia, lakes and mountains. Railway journeys to other towns for a good day out. Beautiful beaches nearby, and boat trips up the Menai Straits, so there is something to please everyone. Try your hand at speaking Welsh. Most Welsh people will appreciate your trying!
The location was the best we could ask for: in Castle Square, few meters from the Caernarfon castle, the old city centre and the sea. The staff has been kind and helpful all the time. The small room spaces were nicely organized and decorated giving a homely feeling that we appreciated. We were generally satisfied with the cleanliness of both the room and the ensuite bathroom, even though the room felt a bit dusty. The stay in this hotel was anyway really worthy the (not too high) price.
Breakfast, you pre-order exactly what you want and is cooked to perfection. Family run place in a quiet area of Caernarfon but it's a stones throw from the Harbour , the town centre & the Castle. I booked this place because the reviews were great and it didn't disappoint. Although they don't have a car park they provide an excellent guide to where you can park and it's completely free as they also provide a Parking Pass. Place is very clean and decorated so well and tastefully.
The staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. Room was very clean and tidy with fresh water available in the fridge along with tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits. Guest house had attractive living room on the ground floor available for guests to use.
Very handy location, close to the harbour (where free parking is available), which has a nice view overlooking the Menai Straits and close to Caernarfon Castle and town centre facilities.
The welcome, the decor (fabulous!), the ambience - and the breakfast was superb. There’s plenty of parking and of all the hotels we stayed in, definitely the most comfortable bed. It’s a place you’d stay in for a while (to make the most of the beautiful reception rooms). We walked down into Caernarfon and although it looks daunting with the road fairly close by, you can turn off left on the way and take the scenic route to the castle.
Jan and her staff were delightful to deal with, greeting us enthusiastically and attending to our every need during our stay. The breakfast was the best we experienced anywhere in our two weeks in Wales, and the room was charming and comfortable with every modern convenience we needed. Victoria House was the best place we stayed during our trip, and I would 100% recommend it to anyone visiting Caernarfon or northern Wales generally
Very clean, modern and spacious new cottage
Superbly equipped with loads of crockery, cooking utensils etc. Fabulous storage in all bedrooms and kitchen, and very comfortable beds
Very lovely quiet rural location and yet well located to explore North Wales and Snowdonia National park
Many lovely walks available within a 20 min drive, and Caernarfon castle and the nearby beach are even closer at 10-15 mins
The apartment was well equipped and although we never met our host, she was in regular contact with us via email. We also needed to reach her by phone once and had no problem. The garden is nice and we figured out all the appliances although they were a bit foreign to us. The facilities were very neat & clean and the location convenient to the castle and shops. We enjoyed being able to make our own meals.
The property was spotlessly clean, and cosy. We loved it. The balcony and it's view of the lake was a pleasant surprise .. perfect for breakfast & a G&T in the evening! The site was immaculate too, with restaurant & shop. Decent size pool and park if you are travelling with kids, they will love it. Caernarfon town centre is just a short drive away with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets.
Totters is an elegant, high-ceilinged hostel with plenty of space! Large bedrooms, with common lounge, dining room, and kitchen. It's inside the walls of Caernarfon Castle, and part of the original stonework is on display in the basement kitchen. It's spotlessly clean, quiet, cool, and comfortable - we were delighted.
Location right in the centre & next to the historic castle and city walls. Coffee & tea provided with a small jug in the room. Room was big with large windows.
Tapas menu excellent & standard of food very good.
Staff on site at checkin & very helpful.
Great communication with all staff that we met.
The location is superb as right in the centre of Caernarfon.
The entrance looks very welcoming and impressive and the parking is free too.
The staff are very good and welcoming.
The hotel is extremely clean.
This is a great place to be - Loved it.
Both dinners were good. The special fish dish was really nicely cooked. The staff helpful. This pub is built into the Castle walls on the sea front. Room had a great view out into the Strait. Caenarfon isn't big and you're right in the centre.
We arrived after 11:30PM but staff was there waiting to check us in.
Excellent location near the castle and waterfront.
Beautiful and well maintained facility.
The breakfast buffet was excellent.
Staff were super friendly and helpful.
Loved the location (close to castle and WHR) and friendly staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable, but the muggy weather during our stay made it little difficult to sleep. Would definitely recommend to others.
The hosting, the vibe, the quaintness. Just a perfect place to stay in North Wales. It’s a hostel so there is sharing, but never once felt like my needs weren’t met. One of my favorite stays going across the UK.
It was a wonderful stay in a very atmospheric hotel Food was great and our room was excellent Staff couldn't do enough for you Perfect stay Thank you Black Boy Inn 😀
