They had a smart TV in the room and there was a bar , serving a small selection of alcohol at very reasonable prices they did a nice breakfast menu and it was close to all amenities and the beach was across the road 😁 there was plenty of tea and coffee , biscuits and free water .lots of cupboard space

unusual place with a mixture of terrain . The beach is quite something on a sunny day and well worth a visit along with the Portland Bill lighthouse where we were lucky enough to see a Seal . I would certainly recommend a visit which also has the benefit of Weymouth a 10-15 minute drive away. Local People we spoke to seemed genuinely funny and helpful.

Even though it has quite limited options of where to eat in the island, for climbers it is a lovely place to go. A lot of the beaches I know from there are pebbled one so bring suitable footwear so your feet do not hurt. This is the second time (always in Sep) I come to this part of Dorset, I discover something knew evert time.

We visited Portland to go on a Sailing trip on Moonfleet.
We visited Portland to go on a Sailing trip on Moonfleet. Great experience and a fun day. Restaurants were limited in the area. Salt is near the harbour but card only and expensive. The Cove Inn is beautiful, gorgeous setting to watch the sunset. A trip to Portland Bill is a must whilst visiting, stunning views. There are places of interest in Castletown with the D-Day museum and Castle just around the corner.

We were learning stone masonry so were very interested in the quarries and fossils. We ate our fish and chips from Ray’s at the lighthouse - what a lovely view. We ate at Les Enfant Terrible and Rockfish in Weymouth - the Crab shack was fully booked sadly.

Didnt know much about Portland before going but had an excellent long weekend there. Kids loved the pebble beaches and rocks to climb over and finding lots of fossils made their weekends. Lots of things to see and some good pubs and food options. Also very close to weymouth but glad we stayed in portlandSimonUnited Kingdom

The little touches were much appreciated; coffee, tea, biscuits, sparkling drink, dishwasher tabs, washing powder, toilet roll, the list goes on! The house was in a good situation, only a few minutes walk to the beach. The parking tight but perfectly doable. All in all a great stay and would heartily recommend to anyone wanting to explore Portland and the surrounding areas more.KateUnited Kingdom

Check in was easy and parking was very handy. It was perfect for sitting out at night and there is a lovely little ferry that leaves from directly outside to take you into Weymouth harbour (£20 return but worth doing imo). The apt is well placed if you want to explore Portland (mainly walks, not much in the way of entertainment or eateries). The walk round Portland Bill is gorgeous.JenniferUnited Kingdom

All the staff are extremely friendly and make you feel relaxed. The bedrooms we had were spacious, clean and had a large shower room, adequate for our one night stay.
