Wheatsheaf, Baslow by Marston's Inns, hotel in Eyam

Located on the edge of Chatsworth Park by the river Derwent, The Wheatsheaf by Marstons Inns feature a bar, a restaurant and free Wi-Fi in Baslow. It is set in an 18-th century coach house.

Incredibly good value. Surprised to find such a clean, comfortable, well-decorated room for the money (we booked last minute). Recently completely refurbished. Tea, coffee, biscuits- nice big mugs. Our only regret was that we didn’t eat there, as we’d originally intended. It was very busy indeed on that Sunday afternoon (we should have taken this as a sign) and we fancied a quiet drink, so crossed over to The Devonshire Arms and enjoyed one in a pleasant area. We then made the mistake of eating there, too, and had a really dreadful meal (they couldn’t even manage a good fish and chips). So, there is a reason for the crowds at The Wheatsheaf! We will, for sure, eat with you next time! Big car-park. Easy walk directly from there to Chatsworth. Manageress very welcoming.

Eyam is a very pretty and really interesting village, with plaques on houses which are relevant to the history of the village relating to the plague. They have a museum that also tells the story of how the village was affected by the plague, which unfortunately wasn't open due to time of year. The village pub (The Miners Arms) is a very charming pub with an excellent choice of drinks. They also serve food, which we would definately recommend.

Interesting historical village with a harrowing story to tell which was well told with signs outside some of the cottages with what had happened to the inhabitants during the Great Plague. This was a stop over for us on out journey to Northumberland.

Small but very good and informative museum in the village.

Small but very good and informative museum in the village. We only found one place to eat - at the pub - but the excellent Indian restaurant in nearby Stoney Middleton is worth a visit (booking advised).

Eyam is a beautiful historic village.

Eyam is a beautiful historic village. A great place to stay with good facilities - a post office, local shop and store, tea rooms, village pub and post office. The Eyam Tea shop is a must and a lovely meal can be had in the Miner's Arms. It's also a great base for exploring the Peak District and surrounding towns and villages.

Full of history and character. Good to explore local footpaths. Visited in March so lovely and quiet. Recommend walk to Monpesson's Well but it's quite an uphill hike from village. Walk (or drive) to The Barrel at Bretton for good food and fantastic views.

Such a beautiful and interesting village in the Peak District, we had no idea of the history of the village during the Plague when we booked a weekend away. The museum and church are well worth visiting, with so much information and memorabilia on show, we were warmly welcomed at both. There’s also lots of interesting information dotted about the village. We were lucky to see the beautiful well dressings when we visited during their carnival week. There are a couple of good places to eat with an excellent choice of food and drinks, The Miners Arms was our favourite, we also enjoyed a coffee and cake at the quirky Vintage Tea Rooms. We would avoid visiting on a bank holiday next time!

The cottage was very cosy and well-equipped, a proper home from home. The hosts were very kind and I was made to feel very welcome, and valued as a customer. The cottage is situated in the centre of the beautiful village of Eyam. It was in a very quiet location. I was able to access the owner's beautiful garden. The hosts provided extras such as free-range eggs from their own hens, fresh flowers, and milk and cereals. They were very thoughtful. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had a very relaxing break.

The house is very beautiful, it does not lack detail. Ricky has waited for us to give us a very warm welcome. He bothered a lot to explain how the house works. He has indicated what could be seen in the area. On cold nights we spend next to the fireplace. The beds are extremely comfortable. I recommend this house if you want to know the Peak District area. The Eyam village is beautiful. It has a cafeteria and a pub where you can have breakfast and eat wonderfully. The whole area is very bucolic

Lovely Village, set in spectacular scenery and central for visiting some of Derbyshire tourist attractions. The food at the Miner's Arms was outstanding, from the freshly cooked breakfast offering local produce to the stunning food from the evening menu, which offered a wide choice and again cooked to perfection. Ideal place for dog's too, we had two sausage dog's with us and were worn out by the fuss alone.

The Barrel Inn is a comfortable and welcoming small hotel in a spectacular location. The room was scrupulously clean and well appointed. The bar has an interesting and varied menu which departs, successfully from the usual pub grub. The cooked breakfast was excellent. Everything about the Barrel Inn shouts "attention to detail". They set a high standard and then go consistently a little bit beyond!

Great location just a short stroll from the heart of the wonderful village of Eyam. Our hosts were very helpful too when we arrived by providing us with the door code. Really nice facilities as well such as two bathrooms (one with a bath), very comfy beds, a very comfy and spacious living area and fairly well equipped kitchen.

Beautiful situation above Eyam on a quiet road - good walking from the premises. Clean, comfortable and spacious room. Host, Andrew, was friendly and helpful, and served a good English breakfast. The Barrel Inn next door was excellent for an evening meal, with other good pubs within short drive.
