Great pub feel with log fire - had to be in a hurry for breakfast as catching a plane, my breakfast was cooked and served in 5 minutes.

The hotel was amazing a real old coaching house with lots of character - the bedroom floors were original floor boards and completely uneven which was fantastic - its great that buildings like this are kept in great condition and used!
We really enjoyed the hotel. Our room had everything we required. One issue was that the floorboards were very squeeky and therefore pretty annoying. We appreciate it must be difficult to resolve this problem. Also it was very noisy on the Friday evening, mainly caused by a stag night!
We had a good breakfast one day and found a couple of very good restaurants in the village within easy walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed in Gerrards Cross as a convenient base for visiting friends and family. We did not really consider it as a holiday location. However, the train station is a few minutes walk away and the village common looked inviting although time and weather prevented us exploring.

We stayed overnight as our daughter was flying from Heathrow...
We stayed overnight as our daughter was flying from Heathrow back to Canada the next morning. The good thing about the hotel was the convenience, and the proximity to other relatives. We met these relatives in the bar for a drink in the evening, which was nice.
However, the hotel was very tatty, and tired. In addition, there was a pervasive smell of damp/sewers upstairs including in our room. The windows in our room would not close, and the glass was cracked, with torn net curtains. The windows along the main corridor were open and locked in that way. Carpets were dirty, and the hot tap on the wash basin was loose so it had to be held to operate the tap. The toilet seat was hanging off too. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable. We had two tea bags in our room and had to ask for more so we had enough for tea in the morning. We won’t be returning!

Very helpful and welcoming staff. Location is excellent. Short walk in town and for rail connection into London. Rooms are comfortable and on our last two visits it was clear that the bathrooms had been upgraded to an excellent standard. Pretty standard breakfast and good bar meals.

We were visiting for a family party nearby.
We were visiting for a family party nearby. For that purpose it was fine. We did not eat at the property other than breakfast. It is ok but is generally tired and in need of an update. Outside areas were untidy.
I have stayed at the Ethorpe for over 15 years when visiting London. The restaurant, bar and dining area have been remodeled. Very comfortable, great food and beverages. The room was comfortable, beds firm, clean, everything worked - TV, clicker, ligths, WIFI. The staff is outstanding. Parking available on the premises. Great location close to the railway to go into Marylebone Station. The town of Gerrards Cross has shops, a Waitrose market and restaurants - all within a very short walking distance.
I love the historic character of this property. it has quirky corridors, stairs and room shapes. The location cannot be beaten if you want to walk to explore the high street with its shops, cafes and restaurants or stroll to the common for the woodland and a duck pond. It is also just 5 minutes walk to the station if you want to catch a 25 minute train in to London Marylebone.
Absolutely beautiful room and bathroom. I particularly liked having a teapot for tea making and a cup and saucer! Lovely biscuits and chocolates too. The hotel is being refurbished to a very high standard. Luxurious bed and bed linen too! The staff were very friendly and helpful.
the staff were very friendly and helpful but the hotel seemed severely understaffed. the room was ok, the beds reasonably comfortable but we were surprised to find it out as a twin room. However the pub was close to the party we were going to, so convenient.
Great location and the place is much bigger than it looks. The restaurant downstairs is incredible, just go, don't deliberate, just make sure you eat in Yaprak. We are about to move to the area and it cemented the fact that we made the right choice.
The Greyhound was easy to find - and parking was easy.
The bed was comfortable.
The 'olde worlde' atmosphere of the hotel.
The staff were cheery and efficient.
We dined at 'Yaprak' - opposite the hotel - one evening. It was excellent.
The Bull is just across from Gerrards cross common ( which is lovely to walk around on a winters day) and very close to the centre with all its restaurants. I recommend Di Paulo for upscale Italian.
the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The hotel was lovely, the staff were so happy helpful and friendly, we asked for a bottle of water and it was brought to our room in minutes, the breakfast was amazing and the room was clean quiet and peaceful
Room was very comfortable and very warm. Everything that you might want in the room was provided and the evening meal was good. Parking facilities were good and next to a main Train line to London.
Breakfast was good value for money.
The overall cost for Gerrards Cross is ok bearing in mind the location. The room was in a nice and quiet location. No external noise heard.
I’ve stayed at the Greyhound a few times and it is my favourite hotel to stay at in the area. I really like the decor and the staff are always really polite and friendly.
