The property was in a very good location, though a little difficult to find at first. Check-in was easy and Holly was wonderfully kind. The room was clean and had everything we needed for a good stay. I particularly liked the desk to get some extra work done and the high quality Wi-Fi. The bed was very comfortable.

Wild moorland a short bus trip away. Town full of interesting Victorian architecture. Magnificent mosque just near property. Warm and welcoming parish church. Went to inspiring Mass in 1830's St Patrick's.Canals and waterways at nearby Mirfield.Good base for visiting much of Yorkshire by train. Happy faces - I presume not just because of the fine weather.

Amazing place to stay beautiful location and very clean and immaculate better than a 5* hotel standards were high. Only only flaw and I think this is a problem
With booking.com that they need to be very clear on there page about deposit required by the host once booked otherwise you lose your money . This is in the fine print which like me many people do no read . But the stay was superb and will be booking again .

The house is perfect.
The house is perfect. Be ready for stairs though as it has 3 levels. Had everything you needed (except a potato masher lol). Cleanliness 100%. Parking was plenty adequate. Location is perfect, not too much of a walk to town.
TV in each bedroom is a bonus.
I loved staying there, we were on a trip, we had stay overs in Scotland, London, Liverpool and Huddersfield. Huddersfield was by far the best of the accommodation. I could easily live there.
Would 100% recommend this to other travelers.

Evening food is delicious and nicely presented
Good choice of gluten free options.
Nightmare getting AWAY from a John Smiths Stadium concert!
Gridlocked around the stadium for 2-3 hours.
Many taxi firms refuse to do pick ups at this time.
Seek refuge in The Yorkshire Rose pub next to the Stadium.
Hope Hotel could put on a return transfer somehow!
First concert right next to a hillside covered in trees!
Beautiful Yorkshire countryside with lots to see and do so close by.

It's easy to get around on foot.
It's easy to get around on foot. There are a lot of interesting looking places to eat. The Turkish cafe did a great breakfast platter that was absolutely the highlight of my stay.
A lot of the town feels run down and at night a little unsafe. There are some okay nightlife spots, but on Friday night they were nearly empty, as were most of the eateries I passed.
I was absolutely blown away by the cozy atmosphere, comfortable accommodations, and lovely personnel. From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. The lobby was warm and inviting. My room was just as cozy, with a soft bed, fluffy pillows, and coffee/tea/biscuits ready to be enjoyed. But what really made my stay special was the staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care about my enjoyment. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cozy, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay.
Nothing
I booked this hotel in September 2021 and 4 days before our trip they emailed to say they were overbooked and were moving us to a hotel on a slip road next to the M62.
We chose this hotel for its proximity to the city Center as we were preforming at a festival. We then ha to book a taxi’s to take us to and from Huddersfield. We had to carry all our gear with us all day as the time and cost of getting up and down to the hotel was prohibitive.
The room was cosy with really comfortable beds, an armchair, decent shower and a beautiful view. The pub itself has been recently refurbished, still keeping its local village pub charm. Breakfast was included: anything from full English to a bacon sandwich and was really tasty. Richard is a friendly and accommodating host and I would recommend to anyone to stay here in this beautiful village of Thurstonland at the top of the hill
Traditional inn that keeps the spirit of West Yorkshire alive, just a short drive from Huddersfield. Well maintained, clean and cosy rooms, no noise from outside even though the restaurant was busy. Comfortable bed, good bathroom/ toilet/ shower, loved the coffee machine with pods, which is way better than the minimal pouches of cheap instant that others offer. Staff was courteous, food was great. I would definitely stay again.
It was the perfect home base to stay with friend and family for my graduation from the University of Huddersfield. Much more comfortable that hotel rooms would have been. Nice homely & quirky touches throughout the property, everything was clean - loved the huge shower too! Its also clearly a place that kids would adore - great for a family stay. I slept in the 'Jelly Bean Attic' which the big kid in me adored haha!
Very nice hotel, good distance from train station, staff friendly upon arrival, great TV for a hotel, corridors had a really pleasant smell. I've have been to Huddersfield many times and this will be the hotel I will be trying to stay at every time I return.
Very professional, check-in smooth, staff helpful and friendly. Hotel modern and clean and in a good position and car parking on site was very useful. Visited for Graduation at Huddersfield University and hotel just a short walk from University.
Beautiful place to stay, food is quality and rooms and clean and comfortable, hete is outdoor seating opposite the hotel by the river and if ypur loje walking there is a map for you to.follow in the surrounding area of all times and levels .
great location, just in front of the University of Huddersfield. has a separate kitchen, the room is very quiet, and cannot hear the noise from other rooms in the same building. got a small radiator and the heating to keep the room warm
Always happy to stay in this Hotel when needed, Beth is always so welcoming and helpful when I need any help or need some information.
Bedrooms are always very clean and the Beds are always so comfortable.
The Hotel phoned day before I was due to stay to say room had been flooded and I was unable to stay as there wasn't an alternative room.
Not the staff's fault, so review is written for the call received.
The room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and the staff were amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Huddersfield.
The hotel was so close to the town centre and was so clean and tidy .the staff were very polite which means a lot .I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be booking it again very soon.
Clean hotel in a great location, 10 minute walk from Huddersfield centre. It’s not the Ritz but you’re not paying Ritz prices. Plenty of parking in the car park behind and in the side roads.
Well equipped kitchen, warm, clean, a good shower and a friendly host who communicates well. The location is great too - a nice tree lined road a short walk from the Town centre.
