The house and grounds in general are beautiful. We stayed for a wedding which was the polar opposite to our first nights stay. The food was incredible, staff service throughout our stay was perfect b it the cottage room (5) and dining experience the night before let it down.
Room 14 however very well kept and really comfy bed.
It's a small, attractive village. They have a very reasonable village shop run by volunteers, which was useful & friendly. There's also a pub which did food. There are nice walks around too, so good for dog owners. It's only 3 miles from Bishops Castle, a bigger village with lots of eateries/pubs & small shops. A lovely area. Quite close to Ludlow or Shrewsbury, if you want bigger towns.

Lydbury North is a small village with a pub and locally run village shop. There are good road connections to the many historical attractions of Shropshire such as Shrewsbury and Ludlow and the countryside is great for walks and cycling. The Welsh border is close by so it is easy to visit places such as Powys with the lovely Powis Castle and garden.

Bathroom and shower was excellent.
Bathroom and shower was excellent. The kitchen and bed were very disappointing. Room was very cramped with limited cooking surface or a kitchen table to eat off.
Information in the apartment about local towns and places to visit was useful.
Definitely worth visiting Bishops Castle.

A very pretty and quiet village.
A very pretty and quiet village. The pub, the Powis, serves excellently kept beers but I cannot recommend the food. Better to head into Ludlow where there are several options, or Bishops Castle where the Three Tuns does decent food. The Powis could raise a huge amount of money for charity if it installed a swear box in the bar. (I would not recommend it for children).

Lydbury North isn't a tourist destination but it's a great stopping place for visiting the area. Nearby Bishop's Castle was interesting and good for eating out and it was easy to get to Ludlow for example, or hop over the border and into Wales.

Lydbury North is a quiet sleepy delightful village, oozing relaxation and 'chill'. The perfect place to base yourself if you fancy the delights of the beautiful South Shropshire hills and countryside. There are some fantastic little towns and villages nearby - Bishops Castle, Church Stretton, Ludlow. There is the one dog friendly, well rated inn in Lydbury North, The Powis Arms, perfectly adequate. There are loads others out and about. Well worth a visit.
