Room was lovely and clean, a little warm as the good weather came in and the usual weather was absent !!! Restaurant was not open during our stay, they were looking for a chef.

Newton Stewart, or the low land forests, does not show up in what to do in Scotland. This is a hidden gem. Nice town with lots to do in and around. Historic Museum is excellent if you like that stuff (I do). Nearby park and hills offers great hiking and biking opportunities, we went on two 3-5 KM hikes. Kennedy castle gardens was an unexpected treat and opportunity to get more exercise. This was a nice two day stop between the Irish Ferry and Glasgow.

We were told that Newton-Stewart was a charming village, even though it is very out of the way. We were looking for nearby accommodation from the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse. Turns out that the lighthouse was the only good thing on offer. We hired a night sky ranger to visit the dark sky park in Galloway, which was very cool. However, the village seemed shabby and most things were closed for dinner on a Sunday after 6.

It was the perfect place to come and unwind, surrounded by nature. We spent most of our time sitting in the outdoor 'living room' watching the weather change across the valley and Lulu contentedly grazing in her field or sitting round the fire pit, watching a thunderstorm! The bathhroom is just awesome!
The services were excellent, food was delicious and table services were good . Being a vegetarian , the breakfast menu didn't have much option but they managed to arrange it in short time which was great . The rooms were cleaned daily and towels were replaced woth washed once daily which was great . The place has a huge play area where kids can have amazing time and big communal areas . Overall a Nice place to stay in Newton Stewart
The cottage was in a quiet area outside of town but with easy access to Newton Stewart and to hiking and biking areas in Galloway Forest Park. Also near a fun gin distillery and good restaurants in town. Graeme was very responsive and helpful. We couldn't get the heaters to work and he came over quickly to resolve the problem. The house is a fairly recent remodle and all the facilities were in excellent condition.
Great location for exploring Galloway forest and coast. Very clean, well presented and comfortable self contained lodge separate from the main house. Did not meet owners but Hildur was easily available by phone if needed. Several pubs and restaurants in Newton Stewart (5 min drive or 15 min walk on private riverside path). Highly recommend the Creebridge House Hotel.
Everything was clean, the owners were both very accommodating to us both. My girlfriend is vegan and they went out of their way to ensure we had a choice of breakfasts and milk alternatives. Really well placed to Galloway Forest Park and near the centre of Newton Stewart. Plenty of free parking too. Absolutely will return! Thanks Nicole and Jon!
Ann and Gordon were great hosts. Friendly and knowledgeable and happy to chat.
Gordon recommended The Crown for our evening meal and it was so good we ate there every night.
The bed was large and comfortable and the views were picturesque.
All in all a great place to stay and I would be happy to recommend it to anyone visiting Newton Stewart.
Great setting, lots to do, beautiful views. Caravan had everything you needed and was in a quiet area. If you are looking for somewhere to eat I would recommend The Belted Galloway VIsitors Center in Newton Stewart, food was brilliant and it was a quirky wee place.
Location on the edge of Newton Stewart was excellent for us to be able to explore the west of Galloway.
It was also possible to walk into Newton Stewart in the evening for a meal. Or if too much of a hike, a taxi would not have been deadly.
The hotel was in need of an update, it was very dated.
We had our evening meal there, together with our breakfast, and both were very good.
Parking was on the premises and sufficient. Location was perfect, right in the heart of the town.
We booked over the Walking Festival and it is such a perfect place to explore south west Scotland. Only three caravans, offset, beside a cottage just a few miles from Newton Stewart. Perfect location.
Breakfast was exceptional, really tasty and piping hot. Staff were very friendly. Room was smallish but very adequate with tea, coffee, etc. Hotel felt really atmospheric and seemed quite old.
Stunning property and location, close to lots of great places to visit. It was our friends first visit to Scotland and they were not disappointed. We would definitely return.
Lovely clean & comfortable accommodation, has everything needed for a relaxing break. The park that the caravan is located in is also spotlessly clean and well maintained.
The staff was so friendly and attentive. Everyone I met in Newton Stewart felt like old friends. I would definitely stay there again if I have a chance!
The staff were friendly and conscientious. The food was excellent - loved the haggis. The hotel is in a good location with pleasant countryside around.
