It's a lovely hotel that's full of character. The bistro/restaurant is very good with a varied and tasty menu at reasonable prices. Nice clean room that had been modernised whilst keeping the charm of the original hotel, and which had one of the comfiest beds I've slept in for a while. Overall, good value for money.

Oban is a city built around a late 18th-century distillery that produces one of the finest single malt whiskeys in Scotland. This normally peaceful town is invaded during summer when tourists use it as a base to visit the Inner Hebrides islands such as Mull, Lismore and Coll, supporting its status as the Gateway to the Isles.
The horseshoe-shaped Oban Bay is sheltered by Kerrera Island with its spectacular Gylen Castle. Award-winning seafood restaurants and lively pubs line George Street and the waterfront of Corran Esplanade adjacent to the harbour.
Take a short walk up the hill to McCaig’s Tower, a structure based on the Roman Colosseum, for the finest views of Oban’s centre and the outer islands. When you get back down to sea level, stroll into and stumble out of the Oban whiskey distillery after sampling the local version of the 'water of life'.
Admire the coastal scenery as you travel a bit out of town to the 7th-century ruins of Dunollie Castle, home of the Clan MacDougall. The Firth of Lorn gives visitors a fanatstic opportunity to try some sea kayaking.

Oban is a delightful seaside town that offers very good restaurants, shopping (small shops with nice merchandise) and the ability to enjoy the beauty of the bay and all of its activity. Oban makes a great base for exploring the area of walks/hikes, going out on small boat short duration trips to see wildlife, lots of castles to visit or to take the ferry out to the islands. Taxi service is plentiful as are private tour guides.

Bustling little port at centre of Highland area, ferries to outer and inner islands. Train station if no car, plus reasonable bus service to places of interest, eg. Dunstaffnage Castle and Oceanic research facility at Dunbeg etc. Try a ferry visit to Mull and look out for seals , dolphins, etc.
Excellent shops and restaurants, all in small scale and within easy walking distance.
Lots of points of interest and if weather nice, very hard to beat. Great for Families with young children and Oldies as well.

GORGEOUS little port town.
GORGEOUS little port town. Lots of lovely little shops, an interesting war time museum, and excellent food and drink in the numerous cafes, bars, and restaurants. Easy access to travel by bus, ferries, and trains.
Walked (some of us VERY SLOWLY!) up the hill to McCaig's Tower and enjoyed the spectacular views; followed by a delicious late lunch at Cuan Mor.

Absolutely perfect location .
Absolutely perfect location . The rooms are gorgeous with everything you need from tea coffee milk to hairdryer and iron if you need to use one I would give the hotel top marks the staff were all friendly . Unfortunately I we didn't eat in the hotel but we definitely will next time
I was lucky enough to stay at this hotel for two days. The sea view outside the hotel is really beautiful. Sitting by the window and watching the sea view is very, very enjoyable and comfortable. The night was quiet and I slept well. The room is big and warm, all facilities are good. The breakfast was delicious. The staff there are very friendly. If I have the chance to go to Oban again, I will definitely choose to go back to this hotel.
First time in our 2weeks in Scotland that a porter kindly offered to carry our cases to our room on the first floor. The receptionist was exceptionally helpful. Breakfast and the service was good and well organized. The bed was comfortable. There was a restaurant that served evening meals and food of good quality. Although the hotel was situated near a main road, we were not disturbed by noise. The ferry terminal was close by.
Property may not be most attractive from outside above retail shop but once inside from entrance lobby, stairwell and apartment all very good. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had all the features described on the website site. Keys are collected from hotel reception a few doors down. Centrally located within walking distance of all shops and restaurants in Oban. Some metered parking on street and nearby.
The hotel is situated close to oban about 10-15 minute walk, it has spectacular views. The hosts Simon and Kirsty and staff are amazing. The rooms are lovely and done to a very high standard. Breakfasts are delicious with loads of options to choose from catering for all tastes. And the whiskey bar... You won't be disappointed! We had a fabulous time here and will definitely be coming back!
Great location on waterfront at harbor. Plenty of on-site parking. Some parking allocated to hotel, other spaces in lot were free overnight, so no problem there. Very convenient to local pubs and restaurants. Nicely sized rooms. All around good location and good stay. Really fun little pub fight across the street - check it out. PLUS, Oban Distillery is right there!
The rooms were extremely clean (good sign when dog doesn't endlessly sniff the carpet!) Great sea view. Staff incredibly helpful, comfortable bed, food excellent - proper Scottish fare. Extremely pet friendly hotel for a brilliant price. Stayed in the winter and room was lovely and warm. Closer to Oban centre than appears on google maps. I will return.
What a beautiful hotel in a fantastic place! We loved every minute from the comfy lounge and roaring fire to the super friendly and helpful staff. We didn't get a chance to sample the food as we had commitments in Oban which is only a few minutes drive away. We would definitely stay here again.
Very well situated just across from the train station, bus stop and ferry, large hotel so many rooms to choose from also close to the central shopping area of Oban. They will look after your bags if you arrive before check in time and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is in a good location in Oban - right on the Esplanade - and has parking, although there is a charge. The rooms have superb views of all the ferries coming and going to the islands. Breakfast was very good. Staff were very pleasant.
The hotel is in a great location right at the port and within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, the island ferries, and the Oban Distillery. The hotel has a very historic architectural look. too.
Lovely hotel not far from Oban centre. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Really good value for money and comfy beds.
Staff were very hard working and friendly. Wonderful views. Spacious older style hotel. The dinner in the restaurant, if slightly pricy for Oban, was good.
Exceptional service and staff. A chic boutique hotel walking distance to downtown Oban. The restaurant at the hotel was also excellent. Highly recommend!
