Staff very kind and available, free private parking, amazing breakfast and dinner at their restaurant.
The room was very large and the bathroom too, very clean as well.
We really enjoyed our stay, a pity that we stayed one night only.
Nearest town Lynton is a lovely place. We discovered an excellent tapas bar there called Oak Wall. We did not eat at the hotel but were informed by another guest that the food was excellent.
Hotel is also served by a bus route opposite. There are many good beaches close by including Woolacombe and Ilfracombe

Was expecting host to be present at breakfast time.
Was expecting host to be present at breakfast time. But plenty of space in kitchen provided. Breakfast was basic but good. The room was lovely, very clean and tidy. It would have been lovely to sit in the garden beneath our room as such a lovely view, but it was overgrown and not accessible. Patio available only has sun first thing and not the same view. Lovely to be able to walk to the local pub which served great food.

Parracombe village is remote , quiet and picturesque.
Parracombe village is remote , quiet and picturesque. Despite hourly buses to Barnstaple & Plymouth a car is pretty much essential.
Nearby Lynton & Lynmouth are local tourist hot spots and the Valley of the Rocks rewards you with spectacular cliff top views along the coast.

Would not recommend Parracombe or the Fox and Goose to all...
Would not recommend Parracombe or the Fox and Goose to all and sundry but I would to friends who appreciate this environment.
We don't want all and sundry knowing about the place and not appreciating the location and spoiling it because many uneducated working class oiks who don't know how to behave and expect everything to be perfect could ruin the village and hotel

We came to Parracombe on a family history tour.
We came to Parracombe on a family history tour. I specifically wanted to visit family graves and the home of my grandfather in Bodley. I was not disappointed. The bonus was the pottery and a fun ride on the old railway, used in the past by my father.
Parracombe is charming and it’s inhabitants friendly. Quiet location well placed for touring. An excellent menu and great breakfast at the Fox and Goose. Plenty of parking a bonus.
Parracombe is a pretty village well off the main road in North Devon, a good centre for walking. The accommodation is very modern and a cross between B&B and self catering so for a family or 2 couples who know eachother it is ideal. It has a kitchenette where one is provided with an excellent continental breakfast and it is possible to cook ones own meals in a microwave. The pub is a short walk away.
We really enjoyed our stay at Highfield House, the rooms are newly decorated, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Parracombe is a lovely village conveniently situated for visiting Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Lynton & Lynmouth. A good continental breakfast is provided and the host Jaye is very friendly and helpful.
Lovely friendly pub in Parracombe near to many great places to visit. Tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. Very good quality food and beer make it a wonderful place to stay. Definitely one to return to and as soon as possible!
A friendly but not over the top welcome that some small hoteliers tend to give. A perfect setting for a quiet weekend away. Very clean, well presented and nicely decorated. Fantastic breakfast.
Excellent hotel. Clean and spacious rooms. Beautiful surroundings. Very friendly people. Excellent breakfast, very good choice on menu.
