The Fox House by Innkeeper's Collection, hotel in Pilsley

Located within the Peak District National Park, The Fox House by Innkeeper's Collection is an 18th-century country hotel just 20 minutes’ drive from Sheffield city center.

We’ve stayed twice before and love this inn. Fabulous views and walks on the doorstep, cosy log fire in the bar (our preferred dining spot) and a delicious belly pork roast followed by home made crumble. Staff are friendly and our waiter recommended local Ladybower Reservoir walk which we did next day *****. . Room was spotless and comfortable .Hope to return soon.

The views are wonderful, and Pilsley has plenty of connections to nearby villages like Baslow and Edensor. The Devonshire Arms does great food too if you only want a short walk for somewhere to eat. Just be prepared for those long and winding roads!

We liked being able to relax on a comfortable bed after an energetic day walking; also the enormous tasty breakfasts to start each day. We were able to visit Bakewell just a short drive from Pilsley. We ate at 2 different pubs - The Devonshire Arms (Pilsley} and the Devonshire Arms (Baslow). Pilsley is so small it would be impossible to get lost therefore getting around the hamlet is very easy.

A beautiful well maintained little village, friendly locals don’t mind a chat. Gardens are delightful and it’s conveniently located to the Chatsworth farm shop for gourmet treats. Very handy to the magnificent Chatsworth House and gardens and other small towns on the Chatsworth Estate.
