Temple Sowerby was a lovely quiet village with great views of the Pennines. Dog walk to a local National Trust property was easy to find. Lovely pub, The King’s Arms just along the road from where we stayed served lovely evening meals too.

Temple Sowerby is great walking territory and very handy for Penrith where there were many tempting places to eat. Dining at The King's Arms however was a good decision and we especially enjoyed the breakfast.

A very old, unusual village with a maypole that was about 40 foot high. A pleasant area to walk around. It was very easy to travel to other ares. Acorn House a NT property was close by with interesting gardens. The Kings Arms served excellent food.

A very pleasant place to stay .
A very pleasant place to stay .Staff are friendly pleasant and helpful.Food was excellant. Only thing to let the village down was the great lack of a village shop, not only for the locals ,passing trade, and guests of both inns in the village. I think it could be a goldmine and would add considerably to enhance a stay in Temple Sowerby.

The location is in a quiet village on the edge of the lakes and if you want you can easily drive there as the main road in to the lakes is 5 minutes drive.
But if you want to stop local there is footpaths in all directions and we would if stopped longer would have explored.
The main plus for us was that in the future and more time it would be a great area to explore more and relax in if you want.
This is a wonderful small hotel in a beautiful location. Lovely comfortable rooms, tastefully decorated with every possible amenity. The manager, a delightful Polish lady, did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Dinner was outstanding (her home made cheese-cake is to die for!) and breakfast was equally good. This was the last night of a two week holiday in the Lake District and Scotland and could not have been better - easily the best accommodation of the trip (and by no means the most expensive.) Simply outstanding.
Temple Sowerby is a wonderful village to stay in. Although I only ate in once, the dinner was very nice and the room was very nice and clean. Probably the best part was the staff who were very helpful and made me feel very welcome. If I'm in the area again I'd certainly consider coming back.
I stayed one night and found the House at Temple Sowerby a great location for a stopover. The room was clean and well kept and there was a good supply of tea, coffee and water. The bed was very comfortable, I had a restful night followed by a lovely Breakfast.
Lovely homely little hotel. Within easy reach of M6 but still quiet enough to feel like it is quite rural. Situated within pretty village with great walks. The breakfast was superb and delicious. Beautiful bedroom and great bathroom too.
We had a very enjoyable stay along with our small dog & were made very welcome. All staff were extremely friendly & helpful.
Food was delicious. We will certainly recommend the Kings Arms at Temple Sowerby.
My colleague informed me that the hotel was very comfortable. Staff very friendly and hospitable, in regards
to the wifi, he found the perfect place to sit on a very comfy sofa.
The House of Temple Sowerby had excellent choice of breakfast. Very friendly staff. The room was very clean. Would definitely recommend to family and friends
