It's a pretty town and at one end of a walking/cycling Greenway with Athlone at the other end (about 46kms). I could definitely see taking my bike on the train from home to Athlone, biking the Greenway, taking a day or two to visit Mullingar, then the return trip to Athlone and home.

Mullingar is a very lively & musical town - always musical events going on. I was meeting an old friend for carvery lunch in Bloomfield. Although we dined at 12.15, the food was only warm, not hot! Dining situation was in the bar/lounge with beautiful view of lake & very comfortable seating. Serving staff extremely pleasant.
Mullingar is very easy to get around - fairly compact, but own car necessary. Plenty of parking available.
Next time I would demand to view my room before payment to make certain that I was not dumped in a childrens' room! There are other hotels.

Stayed in the apartments which are very spacious and had a nice view of the park. They contain a little kitchen with toaster and microwave, which are handy. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is really nice, lots of choice and service is great. Its situated in the town with free parking for hotel residents and the town is easy to walk around and has some nice coffee shops. If driving Belvedere House and Gardens is 10 minutes away and a beautiful spot.
Excellent hotel the grounds and views fantastic the staff amazing.
The rooms are great beds comfy amenities are everything you need
The food is excellent and service is great.
I'm in the trade and I couldn't fault one thing.
Cost wise I was very surprised it's not as expensive as most four star hotels of lower quality.
Really can't recommend the Bloomfield high enough it's fantastic in every way
Excellent location in the heart of town. A vibrant, lively and welcoming atmosphere with very pleasant staff. The hotel regularly hosts live events and the onsite bar has an excellent choice of food and drinks, and it appears very popular with locals as it appears many non guests drink and eat in it also. Rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable.
Staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel and room was smelling nice. Everything is lovely decorated, little chocolates, biscuits, tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room was a lovely surprise. Had a lovely breakfast. Can definitely recommend the Greville Arms Hotel in Mullingar. Thank you for a lovely stay
iThe house was beautiful, comfortable, clean and Enda was most helpful and welcoming. She went above and beyond to make sure we comfortable, well situated and relaxed after a long day of driving. Will definitely choose Keyfield House on our next trip through Mullingar
Room was nice and clean and so was the en suite.
Breakfast the next morning was very good and cooked fresh for us. Better than most hotels. The location was perfect, right in the town center and had enough parking for residents. Was very happy with my stay there.
The location is very convenient to town and to the fleadh cheoil which we stayed for. Has a beautiful walk to town, and hosts were very kind in helping us with transportation. The location is beautiful and you are surrounded by a picturesque Irish countryside.
The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The room has a setup for coffee and tea as well as a small refrigerator. We had the corner room overlooking the roundabout. It was spacious with lots of windows and a good view of the center of town.
We stayed at this hotel, 3 times. I don’t think I need to say anymore how nice this place is pretty reasonable on the price. There are other hotels that are more expensive and not so close to the town.
The bloomfield hotel offered us the biggest hotel room we were ever been. Very spacious, with a lake view.
Good food in the restaurant and of course swimming pool and sauna.
