Perfect place as a mid-point in a long drive. Virtually ZERO to do, including only a gas station grocery only. But as a "motel 6" type option, it was better than average.
Situated in Hvammstangi, Hótel Hvítserkur has a garden, terrace, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a children's playground.

Stretch of gravel road leads to the property. Nice host (Alexander) who are into horse training. Absolutely amazingly dark skies. Far from lights but comfortable.

I chose the guesthouse as a base for exploring the westfjords and it would have been perfect for that, but the roads were closed due to severe weather.
The owner went out of her way to help and advise me when I was worried about road and weather conditions. I ended up having a quiet break and the guesthouse was just perfect.
There are great cooking facilities and a good dining area, a very comfortable lounge, good wifi and hot drinks provided.
Entry to the local heated pool and hot tubs is included.
It's quiet, comfortable, safe and within easy walking distance to a supermarket, a good restaurant, the seal centre and a small museum.
Syðri-Þverá features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Hvammstangi. The property has river views.

What a place! We were greeted by Oskar and his dog and given the grand tour which far exceeded our expectations. Oskar had clearly poured his heart and soul into the place and it showed. It had a very homely feel. The bedroom was comfortable with proper blinds that kept the light out. The bathroom was immaculate and well finished, there was even a lounge room upstairs for guests to chill in. The kitchen was well equipped and well labelled. Oskar gave us great tips on nearby attractions which we would otherwise have missed. He was easily the best host on our 15 day tour of Iceland!
The greatest highlight of this guesthouse was obviously the arctic foxes that came out to play in the evening. We spent hours in the field photographing them, they came right up to us.
Set in Hvammstangi, Túnfífill Guesthouse - free hot tub and sauna, cozy and quiet offers accommodation with a sauna, a hot tub and a steam room. The property features garden and inner courtyard views....

A truly wonderful experience! The house was incredibly cozy and clean, equipped with all the necessities. Looking out of the windows, we were greeted by a lush green lawn, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The location was easy to find and had convenient parking. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit and will recommend it to other friends.
Also, we would like to express our gratitude to the host for helping us send the items we left behind in the room. However, we haven't received them yet. My friend Shuqi (568536432@qq.com) has emailed you and sent WhatsApp messages, but she hasn't received a response.Maybe your email address is wrong, could you kindly reply to her when you have a moment? The package has been returned to you, and she is willing to pay extra as a token of appreciation.

The comfiest bed in the universe, super cosy cottage with gorgeous views and everything you could need for a perfect adventure.
We only stayed a night, arriving in a blizzard. It was absolutely stunning, the hot tub and sauna in the snow were simply breath-taking. We didn't even get a chance to check out Hvammstangi, unfortunately, but next time I will definitely stay here again!

We loved everything: the cottage, the view, the nice short talk with the owner, the aurora on our second evening!
The main restaurant at the village near the cottage is pricy but very good: save for it if needed, it is worth it (and needed as there is no kitchen in the cottage 😉).
The water could be ice cold at first, be patient, it will soon be (very) warm. Talk to the owner before your stay, it will explain the reason better than me!
One last point: the owner talked about a path to go to the shore of the fjord, but we didn't found it. Make sure he explain it to you clearly.

We stayed here for one night.
We stayed here for one night. We where a little concerned considering the remote area of the country. The owner greeted us very kindly and made us feel like at home. Once you step in you can feel the love she has put in to this place. I was really happy on how clean the house is. The bed limens where so clean and ironed. ♥️ the backyard was adorable. She had waffles for us and a home made jelly made. ♥️

Just a short walk out of town but far enough to be quiet and private. Guesthouse was a wonderful surprise. Modern, clean and a very well equipped kitchen for guests. Host even threw a pot of coffee on in the morning. Full fjord view from our bedroom. Turned out to be one of our best overnights in Iceland.
this is the Christmas Eve, we had a car accident before arriving at Hvammstangi. These is few hotel or apartment available at that moment when we arrival. We searched booking and found this property, and luckily the owner replied our request very soon. However we had a little bit internet lag during that time, the information email came later. We kept talking through our phones and got the key into the room. This is an unforgettable experience and thank you for all the people who helped us during tough moments.
The house was so cozy and nice, the interior design was super beautiful and thoughtful. The kitchen was well-equipped and the bathroom and bedrooms had everything we needed, including towels and hairdryers! We really enjoyed the hot tub and sauna in the garden, we could even see northern lights sitting in the hot tub that night :) The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, thank you, we loved our stay in your guesthouse!
The place is wonderful. Great climate and quiet place in the remote area. We really like this gesthause, for its originality and wonderful host. The guesthouse is at the end of the fjord with a wonderful view. A real Icelandic climate in the middle of the nature and sheep. Nearby you can find several beaches with seals. In nice weather, you can see the Westfjords. I recommend this place to everyone.
We are group of family (6 people), we booked 3 twin rooms and we get the rooms closed to each other. The rooms are nice and clean. There is a beautiful view from the room (nearby the farm). We like how they use horseshoes to be their symbol in the hotel (e.g., room number and stair). The breakfast is really good especially croissants and egg salad.
Every thing was fine ,quirky hotel , host was great would have marked this up a lot more but our room was smelly from foul plumbing in the bathroom , Im not sure if this an issue with the other rooms but our room 11 whilst great clean and comfortable just marred by that.Breakfast was good and restaurant meal also
The cottages are exactly as new, comfortable, and beautiful as the photos. Very well designed. Almost everything you’d need is provided. And the views out every window are gorgeous. Fields, rolling hills, the fjord in the distance, and Icelandic horses prancing around in the field next door.
Close to the town of Hvammstangi, this clean and comfortable guesthouse provided nice views and a great place to stay while driving along the ring road. There is a nice kitchenette that you can prepare your own meals and a grocery store right down the street (about 5 minutes drive).
The best night in Iceland; I give this house 100/10 points. We received a nice treat from the host. It feels like more than a house; it feels like 'home.' The facilities, especially the kitchen, are excellent. Everything is clean, and the bed is so comfy. We had a great night here.
Shared space (living room) is spacious and has a large TV, as well as a coffee machine for free use.
The room was large & beds were comfortable.
The staff, especially the hotel manager, was very kind and helpful.
The breakfast is good with a buffet to choose from.
The hotel was nice and comfortable. Enjoyed having a TV to watch. There is not a restaurant on site. We did not pay for breakfast. There is a restaurant at the Museum. Not too many other places to eat. It was good place to stay on our way to our next stop.
The best place in whole Iceland 🇮🇸
Beautifully decorated. Calm atmosphere and good energies.
The apartment is well equipped with everything we needed and more.
They thought of everything!
The owner is super nice, welcoming and worm.
This lovely house near the water is everything you need for a peaceful stay. Everything and more was available. We could choose in which room to sleep, because there was enough place. We had a real Icelandic feeling in the house.
Oskar is an extraordinary host, we felt like home. The place is simple, but it is comfortable, clean and well equipped. The road to access the guesthouse is a little rough, but it is part of the journey.
Absolutely loved this place! So comfortable, beautifully decorated, had everything we really needed after 10 days of camping around iceland :) the area is very tranquil, we really enjoyed our stay here.
Clean, good value for this money, met some nice people while cooking together, it’s super warm in the rooms (important during most of the year in Iceland)
