We intended to camp after hiking from Skogafoss to Thorsmork, but we booked this at the last minute due to gale force winds. Our private cabin room was bare but very clean.

It was nice that the accommodation was very clean and quiet. The landlord also welcomed me kindly.

The cottage was nice and clean but facilities were at the poor side: no chairs outside, no wine glasses (detail) and only one little pan. This far not big enough for 4 people.
But the worst was the accessibility !!!
We were supposed to call the property on our arrival to get the mood our cottage and the access code. I called during more than 30 minutes without getting answer. I send a WhatsApp / message and I tried to contact the property via Booking.com. I NEVER got an answer on none of the communication channels. We were there in the cold and darkness with my mum aged 82 completely without any resource to get in touch with the property.
Fortunately and by chance, After around 30/40 minutes, the driver of a little bus that came to bring tourists could open the door for us.

Takes a lot of time and money to get out there - upon reflection, we wish we would’ve used that money to get a more convenient place to stay.
It was cloudy the entire time we were there so maybe that was bad luck, but didn’t get to see any stars or aurora borrealis
