Situated in the historical centre of Lugo, the Hotel Ristorante Ala d'Oro was once the home of the noble Conti Rossi family, one of the most important aristocratic families in the town.

From the first minute to the last this was an excellent experience. The staff were all friendly, polite and efficient. The room was comfortable, cosy, and quiet. The restaurant was excellent, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Well located, less than 10 minutes walk from Lugo station.

Fabulous apartment, I forgot to bring the key from a football tournament and Andrea helped me out by bringing a spare copy, a great host - very welcoming. I can’t recommend this apartment highly enough.

The host Luciano was very welcoming to us in this beautiful apartment. There was even a custom made breakfast that matched our wished. A good recommendation for everyone.

It was smart, modern, and more than enough room for three adults. It was extremely well equipped and serviced every day. Communication with the owner was excellent.

A surprising place, I had not realised Lugo was so big, I just thought it was just a little village place! Lovely piazza with bars and a castle and a museum. Well worth a visit for a day or two, and being so close to the seaside a trip to the beach can easily be done in a day or even to Mirabilandia so Lugo can be used as a base.

Actually, we were not there to see the Lugo. we were at Ravenna but the hotels were too expensive so we decided to stay at Lugo which is only thirty kilometers from Ravenna. We arrived after midnight which was little troublesome as the neighborhood was sort of noisy at night because some bars were open until 1 Am and people were grabbing drinks. The next day there was this beautiful huge balcony and the nice historic view and the breakfast was great at this lovely bar just 5 minutes walk.
Perfect central location just a ten minute walk from the train station. The hotel feels very much a part of Lugo's life and culture. I felt welcomed from the moment I walked through the door with attentive and helpful reception staff. My single room was probably at the lower end of the scale but perfectly adequate, and with a comfortable guest size bed. Everything was clean. The furnishings looked new and the bathroom had a decent shower. I dined both evenings in the restaurant which I enjoyed with good dishes at reasonable prices.
Great hotel and very very friendly staff (special thanks to Michaele and the kind ladies who always made sure we felt welcomed and comfortable). Good breakfast with diverse options (both Italian and international), and having diner at the hotel’s restaurant was a very nice experience! Regarding the city, staying in Lugo is a good option to visit not only Bologna but also all of the charming cities in the region. Lugo itself is a cute place.
The building is across the church, a renovated building and very well managed and well kept. It was really a pretty building, tastefully decorated and very clean.
The owners are managing the hotel and reception and they were very understanding and helpful when we couldn’t manage to be there at the check in time.
Breakfast was served in their lovely garden and it was very nice.
Comfortable room with two double beds big enough for 4 of us (2 kids and parents). Good location within Lugo the town but also excellent to visit nearby Verona and Bologna by car or train (train station is in walking distance, but in our case the trains got cancelled). Breakfast buffet is varied and good quality.
This was a fantastic place to stay as a stopover on our way to Italy. It had extra parking large enough for our minivan across the street, beds were comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. After a long drive with hungry kids, having the pizza place downstairs was a perfect convenience.
It was very pleasant to stay this Hotel. Very nice old Italian styled room and building. Very clean. Perfect huge bed. Bathroom is very interesting and good equipped. ;)
Thank you to staff for assistance, because we had late arrival to Hotel.
The hotel is very clean, bedrooms are spacious and the location is great as within easy reach of the highway. They have a huge parking space and the staff is very friendly. They speak good English, which was extremely helpful.
The location was perfect for visiting relatives nearby and for walking around Lugo which was new to us. The reception staff were most helpful particularly on arrival and with advice on checking in at the airport.
nice hotel, far away from Ravenna, stay was ok, breakfast for italia good, staff very friendly, but even if it is in Lugo it is on the outskirts of the town, but well maintained and clean, i will book again
Good place to stay near where I was working that weekend, staff were very friendly, the hotel was clean and tidy, I will certainly use this hotel again, when I am working in the area
The location in the center of Lugo was surprisingly perfect. All nice restaurants are on walking distance en the historical center of the village is just around the corner.
