What a wonderful town, that hardly any tourists seem to know. Complete medieval walls around the whole town. We walked round the outside (just took about an hour), then the next day walked round the inside, which was even more interesting, seeing the neat little houses built into the walls.

I was actually here for a wedding in adjacent Bevilacqua. But Montagnana is lovely in itself. Main piazza is impressive, with imposing church, and a fabulous gelateria (Dulcis) among other cafes. City walls impressive, especially around sunset. Small enough to easily navigate on foot. Has a train station with at least some trains towards e.g. Mantova, Padova, Venice (albeit quite infrequent).
I didn't personally eat there but family who did vouch for San Benedetto restaurant as brilliant. Osteria La Rocca was also v nice. Try the local prosciutto somewhere, it's a speciality (and a good one).

There are many different restaurants / pizzerias in the city. Some to mention are Hosteria San Benedetto and Ristorante Pizzeria La Loggia. There were a lot of people in a restaurant beside Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II on the road Via Giacomo Matteoli in lunch time, I just have forget the name of the restaurant. We liked a location of our accommodation La Villa which is just beside the old city. It was rather short to drive Verona and Sottomarina (beach beside the "little Venice" called Chioggia. Hills of Euganei are also worth to check. Buildings in the city of Montagnana are "broken" from here and there and surroundings in the area are "not so well taken care of" but I guess it is what many of us looking for from Italy. We are satisfied for our three days around there.
We had a great stay in this appartement. The view is spectacular and it is a quiet part of town. Parking the car is easy (private parking place) and the appartement was very clean. Eros is a great host and surprised us with wine, eggs and other extra's. They live next door (you share the entrance and part of the terrace) so getting in contact was very easy. Montagnana is a beautiful town and within 30 min you are in a great hiking spot. We can recommend this place!
Amazing location, very easy to find, everything was perfect! The place is spacious and clean, pet-friendly, parking right across the street, very cozy apartment, and breakfast was already waiting for us upon arrival (jam, milk, coffee, tea, croissants, yogurt and more). The self check-in process is also very easy & the host is extra nice, a pleasure to communicate with. We had such a lovely stay in Montagnana, recommend this place 100%!
Amazing hosts - went out of their way to be very helpful, and moreover just incredibly nice people. Apartment was lovely and larger than we'd imagined! Great location in the centre of Montagnana, which is in itself well worth exploring. We loved the thought of leaving things for breakfast, water in the fridge etc. A real pleasure staying here for the 3 of us!
Hospitality. Nicola is one of the best hosts I have ever seen. He helped me in reaching the hostel from Monselice railway station after I missed the last train to Montagnana. Very accurate and a nice human being. The room was good and the washroom was clean. Location was the best.
We had a nice stay, everything was clean, room and bath was nice and spacious/beautiful, AC was working well and windows were well isolated to fight the heat outside. Nice hotel for a good price. 10 min walk to city center. All in all we felt comfortable and would recommend! :)
The location is superb just outside the medieval town wall. When coming to Montagnana you wouldn't expect such a lovely little town behind these walls. The apartment is great for an overnight stay and offers everything you need.
Location is perfect, right by the centre square, with parking outside the door. The hotel is beautiful: chandeliers and parquet floor. Breakfast good and varied with the possibility to eat in the pretty courtyard.
I came to the hotel due to a business trip, but the location inside the walls of the ancient city, the beauty of this classic hotel and kindness of the staff were another pleasant and unexpected experience.
This was the only hotel in this charming little town. Perfect location inside the city walls. Room was very clean and quiet. Reception staff was professional and helpful. Very happy with our stay.
Wonderful hotel with excellent staff who were professional and welcoming. The restaurant is a MUST. I would highly recommend to anyone. We will return one day. Thank you Aldo Moro.
