Hotel La Scottiglia e Ristorante, hotel in Montelaterone

Hotel La Scottiglia e Ristorante is less than 10 minutes’ drive from Seggiano town centre. It offers classic-style accommodation, a traditional restaurant with bar and a garden with sun terrace.

We booked and had good communication. The welcome was nice and quick check in, attentive staff. Room looks good, everything in good shape. The restaurant is very good, solid offer of dishes (prices mid maybe a bit high for some smaller dishes, coperto at 3 euro a bit high). The breakfast was a treat, rich in local products, very tasty. The service by the staff was permanently very attentive and efficient. The service was in line with the price.

Albergo Generale Cantore - Monte Amiata, hotel in Montelaterone

Offering a restaurant, Albergo Generale Cantore (Monte Amiata) is located in Abbadia San Salvatore. Free WiFi access is available. Abbadia San Salvatore is a 20-,minute drive away.

I was blown away by the breakfast. There were two choices. First off was Italian: a cornetto, marmalades, bread, orange juice and cappuccino. Of you could opt for "Continental" which meant almost anything else including; prosciutto, cheese, bread, fresh eggs (scrambled, fried, whatever), yogurt, orange juice, cappuccino and other things I have forgotten. One of the best breakfasts (included in the room price) that I've ever had at an Albergo. The entire staff were helpful, friendly and professional. When I reserved the room I expected something normal, but instead I got something really nice. It's simple, no frills, but it has everything it should have and more.

Grand Hotel Impero - Wellness & Exclusive SPA, hotel in Montelaterone

Located at the foot of Mount Amiata, Grand Hotel Impero offers an on-site restaurant. The air-conditioned rooms come with a flat-screen TV and garden or mountain views.

It's really a nice place, good location to travel around. The staff really made a difference since the arrival, we were given all needed information, and they could accomodate some special requests we had. We liked the view of the mountain from our room very much, and we could close shut the blind at night to have proper sleep. We didn't use spa or other wellness structure, but given their attention to details and the cleanliness, I would definitely try next time we visit.

Montelaterone is a quiet, very old village on top the hill with amazing views and surroundings. Not much to see and do in the village itself but if you're looking for a quiet place to stay - it's the place. There are many places to visit around - towns, wineries, valleys, lakes, even the sea is not that far away. So if you need some silence and want to have a base from where you can make shorter or longer trips - it's a perfect spot for you. Me and my kids fell in love with Montelaterone and definitely want to go back one day.

I've been to Montelaterone many times as my sister has a house there. It's such a beautiful, old village. In the summer, there are some events on weekends but you want to go here for the quietness and solitude.
